Ok my girlfriend lent me her credit card so i can buy brain age on the eshop.
I was so tired of relying on the web browser to go to mocha cfw and 8 times out of 10 having to reboot the console after a freeze up with a white screen.

Now i have a haxchi logo on sysnand. But i would like to know how to make it even shorter to boot straight to mocha, or having a mocha channel, or even a homebrew channel.
Preferably without having risk of bricking the console.

You don't need Mocha once you have Haxchi, it has it's very own CFW called HaxchiFW. If you have the config include an option for sysmenu, that's the CFW option.

If you wanted, you can setup Coldbooting Haxchi (CBHC) which enables CFW on bootup. It's risky but only if you don't know better. All you gotta know is not to format the system while it's installed, or delete the profile used to buy the DS VC game.

Sorry, but there really is no risk at this point. Once you have haxchi on your system and you confirmed it working, as long as you don't PEBKAC, CBHC will install and work just fine. Just read the instructions, unplug USB devices, and you're good to go.

OP: After installing CBHC, the icon will tell you not to move it. This is more of a translation-thing. It just means to not move it from NAND to USB. Don't delete your user profile, and don't delete CBHC or any data related to the DS game it replaced. You can never play that DS game. Also, while CBHC includes it's own CFW, you can still boot using mocha cfw if you want (for things like usb transfer tool speedup).

Completely agreed on the no risk part, for users like me and you there's absolutely no risk. But when there's incompetency in these users, it could potentially be dangerous for them even if the rules are as simple as not deleting the DS VC game. I will always recommend CBHC, but I'll never rest assured when the user can possibly fuck something up. Actually never mind, I don't care what they do lol But I always give a warning to let them know what not to do.

Oh! I was about to delete the profile i created to buy the game, or at least log out, to avoid the extra waiting at boot time.
How about having Mocha the 1st option in homebrew instead of two pages down, do i rename the elf file or the folder containg it? also would it hurt to have a logo? all i see is ugly text for the mocha option in HB

>.< Now I feel for @MattKimura lol.

You rename the XML file inside the folder. If you got Mocha from the github, there is only the elf file. If you get it from wiiubru, there are 3 files: .xml, .elf, .png. (http://wiiubru.com/appstore/zips/mocha.zip <---version 0.2, same as on the official github. No fat32 support!!!). As for appearing first in homebrew launcher, I'm not sure if that's by the folder or the file name. If it's folder, just rename the mocha folder to -=mocha or !mocha.

My personal setup: CBHC autobooting into sysnand (patched). I also have Mocha that I boot into when I need to use SaveMii (mocha only, https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-savemii-wii-u-vwii-savefile-manager.466644/) or the USB Transfer Tool via FTP. CBHC autoboot into sysnand works fine for everything else, but the two I mentioned require a full IOSUHAX implementation, which Mocha is but CBHC/Haxchi is not.

Just set Haxchi config.txt in SDCard://haxchi to include default=sysmenu and b=wiiu/apps/appstore/hbas.elf
Then reinstall it. If you're using redNAND then say, because i will want you to get rid of it and move to sysNAND.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

CBHC & Haxchi has IOSUHAX nodes [Modified IOSUHAX] so they have kinda full implementation.

That still requires him to load haxchi every time he wants to use CFW, so more steps. I guess he could enable the quick menu and have haxchi on there.

Sure, I was just specifically referring to the parts needed for SaveMii and USB Transfer Tool Speedup. Mocha has em, HaxchiFW does not.

It's better than risking update. You could just launch because Wii U bypasses DNS when it has Standby and Quick Menu enabled.

Sure, but there's no reason OP can't do CBHC, and get autobooting to have less steps. OP can configure DNS on the Wii U, or his router probably. And there are no updates as of now so no fear of em.

CBHC is a great option but you're risking, if your CBHC Installation turned out to be corrupted, then your Wii U will be dead, and yes this happened to one member here. Otherwise than that, if you follow instructions correctly, nothing bad will happen.
Well, Nintendo pushed out a update for DSi some time ago even though it's already a dead console. So Nintendo can surprise us with a update anytime.

You're basing your advice on the happenings of a single member? That's pretty poor judgement. CBHC installation be corrupted? The odds of that are what now? 1 out of how many? Exactly. Use a trusted SD card and you're fine. He already confirmed Haxchi works fine. To say there is a chance of bricking, even if OP follows instructions to a T, is just bad advice. Don't let your whole world revolve one outlier.

Either way it's up to OP from here. OP has plenty of info now. ^_^

I just said it happened and probably will if people will not stop putting in unreadable SDCards into their Wii U, lol.
Also @OP be sure not to delete CBHC game.

Ok, you know what! I dont mind having to go through Homebrew at startup... its easy, you press home on the controller, you choose to boot on the haxchi channel and its great. NOW. I have put the nice Mocha banner BUT its still on the third page. I want it to appear 1rst, before the HB App Store Icon. I tried changing the Xml by adding the letter a before mocha, but its still on the third page with only a letter a before the title.
Now... do i change the folder name?... i think its only gonna fuck up something

To get what you want, you're going to have to edit sd/haxchi/config.txt then reinstall Haxchi. Haxchi has its own cfw in which case the config.txt needs to include "default=sysmenu". If you insist on using Mocha anyway, it needs to read "default=wiiu/apps/mocha/mocha.elf".
