Discs of Tron only works on later Mame versions, that are not yet supported on the NES Mini. It worked on Mame 2010 for me, but not 2003 or 2000.

Did you try playing it with the genesis plus gx core? Or, picodrive?
the mini doesn't do mame 2010 ? Oh, well. Guess I just can't play the game on the mini, then. I can always play it on my computer.

I have the v2 box and can confirm hakchi2 v2.15 works with no issues.

I started with v2.15 have not bumped into any problems other than the occasional C8 errors which I mitigated by removing a few games. I like to have all my games displayed all at once so, not a fan of the folder structure.

Did you use the first version of 2.15? I used what I had on my machine and it wouldn't sync the games.

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow. There are no save states so it must be something else causing the problem. Thanks again. Let's see how it goes ;)

When it happened to me I didnt have a ton of save states either but doing the full reset cleared out whatever was stuck and let me load everything.

Last time that happened to me I had to do a factory reset on the nes to remove the save states. That figure on the bottom doesn't take the save state storage into account.

I would do a full factory reset which would include uninstalling hakchi from the kernel menu, flashing the original kernel, doing a factory reset from the NES menu and then starting over.

Thats why a couple of us stick with 2.14b...271/300 here..all kinds of hmods..still syncs perfect..

Same here. I have 272 games ; SNES, Genesis, Nintendo, arcade, atari 2600, gameboy advance/gameboy, and a TurboGrafix 16 game....and 2.14. Don't have a problem with syncing.

Syncs a little slower..but good things come to those who wait! lol...

I have more consoles and hmods..is all good!

For this controller to work which firmware do you need to install on both controller and receiver?
upload_2017-4-26_20-26-59.png

Is it 1.05 Beta0 for the receiver
and
1.72 for the controller?

There were different versions of 2.15? Im still on 2.15 and it works fine. I have about 88 NES games on my NES Classic. Haven't tried anything fancy in it yet.

I don't see a 1.7 firmware for the controller.

http://www.nes30.com/firmware.html

Sorry I was just following off what you had there with the 1.72

I actually used 3.0 on the last one I set up for a friend. That and beta 0 with hackchi 2.16.

Yeah. Cluster had an initial release then a b and maybe a c. I will have to look.

I'm just wondering if the initial release works. More testing to do.

Edit:

Looks like 2.15 only had one release. I am going to factory reset this newer version and test it.

Edit 2:

Just did a successful run with 2.15. You were right. i am guessing that one of the hmods in 2.16 is causing it. Going to reset again and try 2.16c

My v2 Box NES Classic is model CLV-001. It's the same as the v1 Box NES Classic. I don't think there's any changes hardeare wise. Just a slight change on the box.

I hope you are right. I just ran into issues last night trying to mod a new one. I will report back after I test 2.16C.

Honestly I hope it was just me making a dumb mistake. It would make life easier for Cluster and he is busy enough.

Have you ever looked in the menu? There is nothing about selecting all games in the list...

KMFDManic answer that copy config folder worked great, Thanks......
Glad you got your games structure back! To select all games, right click the games list and choose option ;)

Just tested for quite awhile. The only way I could get the problem to reoccur was to factory reset in 2.16C and then flash custom kernel from there and then try to sync, which it will never do because it just gets stuck waiting for the nes.

Odd think is that if you flash the custom kernel in 2.15 it will load just fine when you sync in 2.16C

So to all paying attention. Just make sure that the initial custom kernel flash (one of the first steps) is done in 2.15 or 2.14B. then you can use 2.16C like normal.

BTW. I did reset my old one to factory in 2.16C and flashed the recovery from the same image but it synced just fine. It only happened on the new one.

Hope that helps everyone. I am going to submit it in the issues thread on github too. I'm sure its something Cluster can fix pretty easily.

Edit:

Hmmm.. So I tried a few more tests and the work around seems to be load the games first and then load the modules after. Still trying to pinpoint where the problem arises from...

Edit 2:

aaand now I can't recreate it. Weird.

I have a couple people with new systems coming over in the next few days. I will try and pinpoint it more then.

To anyone having the sync issues. Just use 2.15 or 2.14b to dump the original Kernel and then flash the custom one in there. Then jump back (if you want to) 2.16c and go about business as usual.

Hello,

Is there a way to have every single NES game running in full screen, stretching to fill a 16:9 TV?

Thanks.

Select+start to pull up retroarch options, given retroarch hmod is installed. You will then go to settings, video, aspect ratio...after changing aspect, backup to quick settings and apply either game override or core override settings. Beware, wrong button press goes into an annoying, endless search loop (harmless and fixed just by powering off system). Proper one gives no confirmation...But, it will stick upon core and/or game reload.

Same with system 32 games. Run in 2010, 2014, 2016. But, not 2000, 2003.

2010 and 2014 and 2016 are terrible for the Mini. I used up nearly 100mb of hmod space testing 2014. It is not meant for the Mini, with its limited space.

Anyone know how to add a database file for the other systems? I found an atari 2600 XML but I have no idea how to make hakchi use it

Something odd I just noticed. While I had an atari when I was a kid, I don't remember it much. I just put the atari game, Combat, on my classic and it plays just fine. Well, I assume it does, as it's a two player game and I don't play two player games. But I'm fairly certain that Combat had more than just the tank game, right ? Because when I start the game, it automatically starts up with the tank game. Doesn't Combat have more than one game ?

Hi,

Even with the "OEM" 30 games? The only NES games where I'm seeing retroach menu is with the ones where the nes mini can't handle the mapper.
