Hacking Any idea why only some games are installing using WUP 1.0 and loadiine?

Hi,

I've followed a YouTube guide. Have loadiine on an SD card and copy game files to install folder on root of the SD so I can play my backups without disks.

I then run WUP installer from the loadiine internet bookmark and install to USB.

Have had about four or five games work. The others just start installing and then just stop without error or completion messages.

It's a 32gb USB so should have room still.

Any help gratefully received. One potential issue could be that guides seem to say to copy the whole game folder into install on the SD but if I do that it throws up an error message, I have to copy the files inside the folder not the folder itself.

Thanks!

Paul

i would check how much space you have left as 5 games (depending on which games they are) could be taking up all your internal memory

I did try a second USB stick for that reason and same happens. They're all fairly small games per websites so should be fine.

Although if anyone can tell me I can check that would be useful as I can't read it in the PC without 're formatting and losing the games that do work.

What type of games you're trying to install? eShop, DLC, Update or Legit Game/Non-legit?
You're not running CFW it seems.

run a cfw prior to installing, even then it may fail sometimes, like when I tried to install pokepark 2 even after running cfw I still got an error, but eventually the 3rd try worked for me, but be sure as Felek said, if any of those you'll need cfw, VC games should be on the list too, and original Wii games.

No I'm not running CFW. It's the site where you select the region, then a load of games appear in red which don't work properly,

Thanks.... is there a particular CFW you'd recommend and is easy to use with the method I'm using and no chance of.bricking the console

As you can tell I'm new to this!!!

Thanks all for the help.

Mocha CFW - Launched from browserhax, region-free, CFW.
Haxchi - Has it's own built-in CFW, region-free
CBHC - coldboots Haxchi, can boot to desired application [sysmenu, vWii, fw.img etc.]

If you're new to this you should read some guides. They are in the stickies.

Your title is what's misleading people.

Loadiine = old method for playing games before CFW came out.
Loadiine.ovh = a website for webexploits.

Not the same thing. Totally different

Thanks... I have read a bunch of guides and all seem to use slightly different methods and loadiine.ovh seemed the simplest and I say works much of the time.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply but I'm no closer to.knowimg what's wrong and if it was obvious from the guides I wouldn't need to ask for help here...

I'm using loadiine.ovh. does the cfw replace the wup or is this something I need to install first or after?

That's my point. You want to be spoon fed instead of reading.

You say you've read guides but you asked "does the CFW replace the wup". That makes exactly no sense and shows me that you really need to read up.

You don't even have the basics down and you want me to help you by giving you the answers. I've already typed up your answers. Theyre in the guide.

Please, we don't mind helping but you need to at least get the basics down. Read my guide, @Felek666 guide, or wiiubru.com/guide

When you're done come back here and ask your questions

And by the way. You're questions ARE obvious to the guides. There are whole sections covering it which is why I don't believe you read any of them

Don't forget, Kafluke, not everyone is technically savvy, and this kind of stuff, even if it seems very simple to you and me, especially just reading a guide, might be way above the head of some people. But really, in my opinion, these people shouldn't even attempt to hack their consoles themselves, and should ask someone more confident or pay someone to do it for them.

I don't know how to help people who come here using a 2 year old hack (probably from an old youtube vid) and don't want to follow a step by step on the latest. You're right. They shouldn't be attempting any modding at all until they read up.

Its a bit like someone wanting to drive a car but don't know how. Sure, we can tell them to put the key in the ignition and start the engine. We could explain what the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal do. However, if they start asking things like "What is an ignition"?, "What is a pedal"? and " Does it replace the steering wheel"? Then we must advise that you first learn where the steering wheel is and its intended purpose. Then we can explain how to use it to manipulate the driving direction of the vehicle. Sorry for the bad analogy

Yeah and end up using a CFW with no knowledge on why or how. Also, hope you don't fuck up somewhere because that guide has no nand backup section.

Please stop pimping that guide. Its generally frowned upon here. That guide was copied and pasted from a 3ds guide with slight changes. When users starting bitching because their redNAND was corrupting they took that section out but it still doesn't explain anything

There is not a one size fits all solution and any guide or youtube video that doesn't ever get updated quickly enough is destined to always be out of date, uninformative and just plain wrong.

Plailect?!? Creating a noninformative guide that is outdated and skips a step?!?!? Why I never...
Seriously, why is it frowned upon? How is it a copy of 3ds.guide? How does it not explain anything? DO YOU EVEN HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THAT GUIDE?
Also, thanks, Captain Obvious. I never said there was a "one size fits all solution".

Thanks all for the advice. Good news is that I believe I've solved the problem.

Firstly although I couldn't describe exactly what I was doing, having read through all the guides again I was doing everything right.

Issue appears to be that the download from site to PC had a fault... not sure which end but having tried another backup download helper one of the games that never installed worked first time

Thanks all
