You are downloading the new version of the payload for 11.3. You need the old version, which works with PKSM and JKSM. If anyone has a USA New3DS payload for 11.3 which is working, please attach the file ! Or anyone that could recreate the payload before udsploit.

I still have my old 11.3 payload that worked but I won't be able to upload it till I get home but I believe someone uploaded it a few pages back.

Hey guys, i took your advice and decided to install cfw on my NewN3DSXL using soundhax.
I believe ive done everything step by step up to the point where you open up the browser and type in "2xrsa.3ds.guide" in the url.
The issue is, instead of my screen either blacking out, glitching or anything, my screen just freezes.
No unusual patterns, just the browser loading screen, frozen. According to the 3ds guide, i should ignore that and press select to "Full Install," wait a few seconds and press any button to reboot. I press select and wait a few minutes, then press any button to reboot but the screen stays frozen.
I was unable to find a solution or a symptom of this kind in the guide or anywhere so i ended up pressing the power button to force it off.
I ejected sd card and checked to see if the intended 'OTP' file was downloaded anyway, but no.
I inserted it back into system to repeat the process of course but still nothing.
What does this mean, what am i doing wrong, and what can i do?

Look over the prep section again and make sure you have all the files in the right places.

the truth is, ive back-tracked the entire guide and i get the feeling ive screwed up from the very beginning and i cannot redo the first part because i am now in 2.1.0 and i can no longer access homebrew... i would be better off deleting or formatting everything and starting from scratch right? i mean i have replaced nearly all the files that i mightve messed up on but it still doesnt work so i think its something before that which i think is safe CTR Transfer on the homebrew or even before..

when i use jksm to try and transfer super mario maker extra data it doesnt work(it says there was an error) but it does work for monster hunter generations extra data, why is this?

So, I came home and I just wanted to play Smash for a little bit when I realized I couldn't even get online because Nintendo is forcing us to update (I'm on 11.2).
The only reason of why I didn't want to update is because I usually gen Pokémon for myself or people. I was thinking of updating to 11.4 but I don't know if JKSM cia works for that version.

Can someone tell me, please?

Also, I know this isn't related but I really need an answer.
A long time ago, a guy installed arm9hl on my 3DS, is that like a big step to install a CFW? I don't know anything about this.

Why wouldn't JKSM not work on 11.4? Everything but NTR video streaming works on 11.4.

After you upgrade to 11.4, just launch the homebrew launcher like you always do and it'll get what files it needs. unless it's a really old version. (https://github.com/yellows8/hblauncher_loader/releases)

A9LH is, what many will say, is the best way for "CFW" (I put it in quotes because it's not a real custom firmware. It's a series of patches...."). It depends what you are using now. The most popular "CFW" is Luma3DS (https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases). When you download the latest release, the only file you need is the arm9loaderhax.bin. Place that at the root of your SD card. Here, https://3ds.guide/updating-a9lh . Alternatively to update Luma3DS you can install the Luma Updater (https://github.com/Hamcha/lumaupdate/releases).

Thanks for the answer, but I still have some questions...
Let's say, I just want to use JKSM and install emulators:
-Do I really need to get CFW?
-What's so good about getting CFW?

-What's so good about getting CFW? ability to play backed up games and install whatever you want to the home menu, cheats, fan translations of foreign games, play online with all of these

when you boot your 3ds, hold down select. if you get into a menu, you already have a "CFW" on there. Chances are there is a "CFW" on there as that is the main reason to A9LH a system.

You're totally right. It says Luma3DS v6.6
I had no idea about this because when I first got my 3DS I wasn't interesed on knowing this, I just wanted to get games.

I asked the guy who installed A9LH on my 3DS about the update and he told me to delete everything from my 3DS SD, except the "Nintendo 3DS" folder, download some files (arm9 and luma), put those files in the SD and then update. I guess I'll think about what do to for a while. Thank you.

So you have CFW on there already. You can download the Luma Updater or update Luma yourself manually as per my instructions above. You can update to 11.4 without issues after updating Luma. You'll only lose NTR Video Streaming, if on N3DS.

If you have CFW, don't use the Homebrew version. Install it as a CIA to your Home Menu. If you have just Homebrew and you're on an o3DS, there is no fix.

But just to be sure and don't mess up this thing, I updated Luma with LumaUpdater, can I update my 3DS now? Is that all I needed to do?
