I have a question. I downloaded this app but I don't have the pokemon app that's needed for it to work. I access homebrew by using the OoT cartridge method, but my system's on the update 11.2.0-35U. Which means I can't go on the eshop to download it unless I update.

Is it possible to get the OoT cartridge method to work on the latest update?

you can use ctr-httpwn to access eshop. (if youre using .uma hold selet on boot and turn off cache) just open the homebrew launcher (using soundhax) and run ctr-httpwn then when its done press start and x to return to home menu. open eshop and enjoy.

You can downgrade from 11.2 using this guide https://3ds.guide/get-started

When I tried it it said an error occurred. I have version 1.0.1. Is it because I maybe have the cache on? Does it also matter if I open it using soundhax as opposed to the Ocarina of Time method? The OoT method is the only way I know how to access it.

I highly recommend you downgrade that 3DS well first it will allow you to do some neat things like piracy if you wanted oh and cfw so you'll be able to update to the newest firmware and still be able to do all the things when on homebrew and more but I'm not going to force you to downgrade if you don't want to.

I could, but I have two 3ds's (the original and new XL), and the only purpose of my original 3ds is just to hack my games and make backups of my saves. The only thing I need is to access the eshop (my dumb ass forgot to download the pokemon apps before the update), which I guess is possible, but an error comes up for me when I try the ctr-httpwn thing.

Is it easier to downgrade or to try fixing the ctr-httpwn error?

I'm looking into how to fix it right now.

I say a downgrade is worth it and it's really easy and safe just follow the guide as it says and you'll be golden.
