This is only tangentially related, but I can confirm that the PowerSaves for Amiibo with Power Tag works great with the Switch as well.
If it freezes halfway initially flashing the USB NFC reader/writer firmware, let it sit for a while. Then, try unplugging it (yes, seriously), killing the software's process in Task Manager, plugging it back in, and then running the software again. It should quickly shoot up to 50%, then finish the flashing process and let you start loading and saving Amiibo data.
There's a tutorial in the hacking section on how to use the PowerSaves for Amiibo to flash whatever amiibo data you want instead of using Datel's limited cheat data, too.

It's funny. I actually couldn't get it to work withheld amiitool I used the powers email software and placed my back ups in the powersaves folder and selected powertag to select the back up I wanted to use.

What I ended up doing is downloading the Amiibo data from a certain bank of NFC data... (not sure if it's okay for me to be straightforward about that site's name here)
So I grabbed an Amiibo BIN, and replaced some backup in my Powersaves for Amiibo directory with it, by swapping the filenames.

That's what I did as well. But for some reason I didn't even have to rename the bins I downloaded. They worked as is, i just renamed them to make it easier to read. Ex. Ssb - Link

Just use the Namiio software, you can select the downloaded bins with no problem and no modification needed. It's a way better program.

I sure am loving this little powersaves + powertag device.

I have found 15 of my backed up amiibo that give chests. Anyone else know of anymore?

I just wanted to mention that I just got my powersaves with powertag and they function perfectly with switch.
How does it work? Is it like the n2? Can I write like 200 bin files and go over them with a click? Or is it just 1 at a time and I have to write a different one every time?

Edit: nevermind I just read your answer. So I think it is better to buy the n2 and have 200 at once.

I’ve been using N2 elite for all sorts of games on my Switch... BotW, Mario+Rabbids, Splatoon 2, Captain Toad. It’s an expensive device, but it works awesome, I’m happy with it.

Can i please ask some questions.
Im thinking between the n2 elite or the Datel Powersaves.
With the n2 elitle im worried about having say 10 amiibo on it and having to press the button 10 times.
Is there an easier way to do this like with an app?
Or am i just better off with powersaves and flash each one as required?
Thanks

I use a desktop app that allows me to choose which amiibo is loaded. I think they also have a phone app as long as you have a compatible nfc phone.
