That's because the servers weren't hosted by Nintendo. They were hosted by GameSpy.

Atleast from what i have seen , shit started in 2012 where Club Penguin was only a way to sponsor shit Disney did and it became boring

I'm pretty sure this is costing Disney more money to keep it up than it is to shut it down. Not to mention they're essentially a monopoly now. Just look at all the franchises they've incorporated into their brand.

Pong, Asteroids, damn those where the days... The good thing about being old is that I remember everything when it was new, the bad thing is that some of those old games the less talked about ones where pretty bad... lol I remember even older arcade machines than when I was born but only because where I was born, near me there already was an arcade museum. Old old old mechanical machines, shooting games mostly (literally BB guns inside wood cabinets with electric score keeping.)

But being a mall rat in the 80's when arcades where the rage, was radical, no two ways about it.

Club Penguin was a thing back in 2008. Damn, no required microtransactions, nothing!
But now *sigh* just look at it. Membership everywhere.
Ending that sentence, my account with every cheated membership item will be deleted.
