Also I just realized that I accidentally updated to 2.1.0, and there's the new PegaSwitch exploit for 2.0.0. I'm bummed I'm going to miss out so I hope there's an exploit for 2.1.0 soon™ :(

Have you tried this?

*not spamming*
Its good to update , after all , there wasnt exploits discovered for 3DS / Wii U one month after their launch

I did that with mine, works fine for one hour and two, and then the problem comes back.
Even immediately after rebooting, it still doesn't work. It's not such a huge problem as I'm not going to play with my hands behind my back all the time, especially not in TV mode :P

I'd rather have the URLs. I've been asking around for awhile.

I'm using the same little DNS emulator that I use to block Wii U updates (no point in that now) to block Switch updates.

These are my Switch rules:

Code:
;Switch system update server
sun.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net,Deny

;Switch phone home
receive-lp1.dg.srv.nintendo.net,Deny
receive-lp1.er.srv.nintendo.net,Deny

;Switch connection test
;conntest.nintendowifi.net,Redirect,xploit.ninty.ninja

Blocking the above domain name, "sun.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net" makes it so that the Switch throws up an error if you try a manual update and it apparently protects against auto updates. I'm still on 2.0.0 and my console seems unaware that it's not on the latest version. I've never been nagged. However... My switch appears to be waging a counter attack. It's attempting to connect to "sun.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net" about every 30 seconds. Maybe after failing to contact the update server for X number of days it starts to retry constantly. It wasn't doing that before.

The two entries under "Switch phone home" appear to be usage and error data Nintendo are collecting. When I changed the Switch's Primary DNS to the PC running the DNS emulator I noticed that the Switch was contacting the first domain "...dg..." every time I selected something in the Switch's interface. The "er" domain is contacted every time an error occurs.

The "Switch connection test" section is for getting the Switch to load any webpage when the Switch tries to load the connection test page (every time it connects to a network). It's commented out because if you redirect the connection test the Switch doesn't see the expected contents of the test page and decides that you are not connected to the internet. That is why game/system updates and eShop won't work with some of the Switch public DNSes.

I find it hilarious people are already blocking updates, it's been out for three weeks, there is not going to be anything viable to exploit for a long time. The Wii U didn't have anything useful till last year, what makes people think programmers are going to be interested in developing exploits and homebrew for this?

I do care about homebrew, notably the Wii U, I was making a point; people are paranoid about updates and it hasn't been out for a month yet. Sheesh. People have little to no interest in Wii U stuff, at least, not until four years after, how will the Switch differ? Is that such a bad thing to ask? Apparently it triggered you.

Until they come out with the release version of the OS I'll stick with the nightly build I'm running now.

I'm asking a question, you can put away the tumblr dictionary away (should probably go there instead.)

People should be allowed to prepare themselves for when an exploit does become available. What your asking people to do is counterproductive to the development of any homebrew so I sincerely doubt you do care for the scene to dismiss others for paranoia.

What away should I put away that way?
Sorry, I don't understand the way your speaking. /s

Now then, I am very disappointing in the late homebrew development, and the hypocrisy of calling piracy "homebrew", and that is what I see most people in this forums doing.
Homebrew is home brewed software, for the sake of god, in the fashion of moonshell or nitrotracker, and that is not what the bunch of non-updating paranoids here are looking for.
Homebrew is not even encouraged anymore, no more competitions or anything, I even tried to convince gbatemp to encourage a homebrew competition some time ago, the idea didn't catch for sure.

That's good news if so -- the OSS changes almost certainly mean webkit got recompiled, and so the fix could be as simple as updating the exploit with new code addresses for the new binary.

If the bug itself is still live, though, I'd expect the old version of PegaSwitch to at least *crash* the browser, even if it doesn't get code execution.

Outside of guns or other weaponry I've never heard of the word "trigger" being used except from that cesspool of a forum (tumblr) which is why I asked him to put the tumblr dictionary away. Its a word I dont personally associate myself with using on a daily basis.

I agree with you on the hypocrisy part and I have my own personal reasons to want homebrew for the console. @the_randomizer can go bitch and moan later at how to downgrade when an exploit is found later. Prevention always beats the headache of a cure.

Oh, that is what you meant by tumblr dictionary... Well, now I get it.
I suppose I just don't go around tumblr, and I got to know that meaning of "trigger" here in gbatemp sometime ago, so it didn't look weird to me, but English is not my mother tongue anyway.
