Hey everyone I'm a new Nintendo player

& I'm sorry to be a nuicence to you all, I've recently bought a new 3DS xl and I'm interested in modding it and downloading games, I have researched on how to do it but I'm kind of lost & I don't want to screw things up, it looks a lot harder too, I'm just wondering where do I start? My software is ver 11.1.0-34E and I hope I'm able to do it and thanks.

Do every single step that the guide says and you won't encounter any problem (most of the time problems derive from user error)

Hi,
I'm on my first steps on installing CFW on my old 3ds. I've managed to install the homebrew with soundhax but as I am on 11.3.0.36E firmware I can´t find any info on installing CFW... Is there even a way to do this?

nevermind:
"Chapter: DSi / DS functionality is broken after completing the guide" on 3ds.guide, gave me enough insight.

Formated my microsd 32gb to fat32 inserted into my Gateway blue card and when I launched the card I got an error telling me to restart. (With this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/gateway-blue-card-on-luma3ds-a9lh.439605/)

Just have:
__rpg folder
and the _DSMENU.DAT file
and a game.nds,
in the root of my microSD

I did skip part 1 because I did not change anything.

Hey guys, I have a short question. I wanna start putting CFW on my 3DS now. I just started the DS and prepared the SD Card and stuff. So here is my question: The guide says at certain Points that I should copy files to a folder called "3DS". However, there is no such folder on the SD. There is only one folder called "Nintendo 3DS" and it has 6 subfolders until you reach 5 data wich are called "00000001", "00000002".....

What should I do now? Just create a folder called 3DS?

Yes, I did that also and that worked for me.

So I started now and I am at this part now. It says it my take many tries, but how many is it? I tried around 30 times now and it's always says: An error occured. The software was closed. The system will reboot.

Sometimes the upper screen blinks in some colors, but always stays at green, then I get the errormessage again.

Go to /SDCARD, then play “<3 nedwill 2016”

This may take many tries
If it freezes, just force the console to power off by holding the power button, then try again

SOLVED! I am an complete idiot and did not renamed theotherapp.bin :/

Ok I qualify as a noob as I haven't done anything 3ds related in almost 2 years.

I'm currently running rxtools 2.8 on an emuNAND launched via the MSET exploit on an o3ds. I'm not certain of my sysNAND firmware at the moment as I'm away from home and don't have my console. Is there an easy way to move to Luma3ds? Also what exactly is A9LH and how does it benefit me?

So okay, I hacked my 3DS succesfully. I want to transfer a system from my old 3DS now. Is there anything I need to know? Is it safe and most importantly, what happens with the apps like Homebrew Launcher, FBI etc?

a9lh is a cfw/homebrew entrypoint that boots before system firmware, so you can boot cfw within milliseconds of powering on the console. also being able to boot cfw/homebrews before system firmware allows you to restore your system (if bricked and have a nand backup) without a hardmod. having a safety net like that coupled with a9lh's native firm protection (keeps itself from being overridden during an update) there is no more need for emunand giving you back nearly 2 gigs of space.

So I tried to use 3ds.guide in my 11.1.0.34U 3DS. Everything was fine, I've even put a game cart to prevent any errors with safehax. However, while it did load in the first time, it couldn't complete the setup, displaying an error message about a missing .sha file and saying to go to 3ds.guide again. However, I've followed EVERYTHING correctly until then. And now, safehax doesn't even load anymore. What should I do? Goodbye any chance of a CFW?

Thanks, but what should I do, then? Start again? Because I think safehax won't work, I don't know if I need to restore something (3DS is functioning normally).

(Also, when I try to download files from your site, it says "You need to do a cart update (check 3ds.guide for more info); the "homebrew only" option doesn't finish downloading)

I got the files and the error persists. ".sha check failed".

Forget it, managed to made it work using another SD card.

You forgot to check your SD card for errors before beginning the guide.
