So the first time I formatted it (Kept my backups on a different drive) You can use it for Wii U games, dlc signed or unsigned, update data apparently is what I believe.
Wii Backup Manager recognizes it as a unknown file type even if you make it available by not formatting it as a option through disk manager via just only setting a Drive letter. This should also be the same with other tools like WBFS Manager.

Is there anyway to bypass this?
Haven't even checked if you could install games from disc via USB Loader GX's install game
(that little + sign at the bottom left somewhere)

I want to install Wii U games and Wii Games on one single HDD only because even if I get a second HDD for Wii U games, You wouldn't be able to use Wii U GameCube Adapter or Mayflash's GameCube adapter.
That's why I asked here.

Before you say Ustealth, I asked for both Wii and Wii U game backups and Ustealth ONLY hides it from the Wii U disk format nag.

It's possible if you usethe latest version of Mocha CFW version FAT32 and put the games in FAT32 format:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/playing-loadiine-games-from-hdd-thanks-to-mocha-cfw.460774/

Then you can put the WiiU games and Wii games in same HDD.

But I don't recommend it. The loading time is like Loadiine, for games like Zelda BOTW and TP, and others the loading is huge.
Not sure how that's gonna work for me, But what about things for Wii U USB Helper and all of that? I use WUP Installer GX2 (Even though I can use WUP Installer Y Mod) And install to usb, will it set it up like that apparently?

The games must be decrypted and there's an option on WiiU USB helper for decrypt the games. After download click in the right button and the last option (Pack/Unpack). Then just follow the thread above.

if you want to use WiiU games on FAT32, you need a lot of steps :

initial steps:
1. you need an existing WiiU formated HDD (not sure about this step, but I guess it's easier to know which file to move?)
2. use FTPiiU Everywhere or WUP Server to copy all the WiiU HDD content to SD or to your computer, (or to FAT32 USB but I think you can't have 2 USB at the same time)
3. on your FAT32 HDD, create a /usr/ folder
4. copy all your extracted wiiu content to the usr folder. if "usr" folder is present, Mocha will mount that folder as a fake WiiU HDD, using a very slow FAT32 driver from nintendo. (expect 10min load time with zelda)

Next steps are to be done per game:
5. use WUP installer to install the game to your console or to a WiiU formatted HDD (not the FAT32 HDD), so the console has the ticket
6. use FTPiiU everywhere or wup server again to extract the game file from the console to SD or computer
7. copy the game to the /usr/ folder
8. you can delete the game from the console using the official data manager menu (it will keep the ticket)
9. plug your HDD and run Mocha 0.3b to mount /usr/ as if it was your WiiU HDD

All these steps are required because Mocha does not properly set file permission on FAT32 yet, resulting in 0byte installed files when using WUP installer to FAT32 /usr/ folder.

Extracting the game with Cdecrypt, or JNUStool, or any other apps to get the /code/content/meta folder and copying them to FAT32 HDD without installing the game to the console first will not work, as the console will miss the game's ticket.

@Cyan I heard that Mocha have some speed increase in FAT32 SD cards for retroarch and homebrews. Maybe with Mocha the loading times from FAT32 HDD could be better?

yeah, that's a different thing.

homebrew are using a different file access driver than the games.
the console doesn't see the HDD as FAT32, it sees it as officially formated in WiiU format. it's using a trick to use the existing internal nintendo's FAT32 driver (the one used for the FAT32 SD card)

Maybe the file access could be improved in the future (if anyone is willing to work on it again), by using the same IOSUHax method than homebrew to access files on a FAT32 partition.

and what about the Wii backups? Edit: I'm not willing to buy a second external HDD, any other ideas?

yes.
Don't install 296 games you'll never play.
install the game you play on your internal memory, one at a time, enjoy it, complete it, then play a new one.

if you are not willing to at least put a little effort to do things correctly, do things like you can, don't expect everything without putting a little something from your side.
There's already plenty of possibilities, if you are not willing to do it one way, do it the other way (loadiine, mocha FAT32, internal, SD adapter on usb, or you know, buy the disc).

WFS uses the whole disk. So no option for MBR partition table. So no.

But it is probably possible to do patches to WFS in CFW to use only partition of the disk.
But is there way to use that the patched partition for something else like storing Wii games for WiiFlow in vWii(theoretically)? Saying a >2GB HDD which WFS only showed up 2GB on Wii U

If it is only a partition, you can use another FAT32 partition on the same disk to store those things..

Make a mistake in my last post >2TB. So there would be 1TB unaccounted in WFS format.

Really need to WFS speed for Wii U game while also want to store wii games in the same HDD. Since WFS takes the whole disk. Patch it, does vWii read the Wii game on it?

I don't understand your response.

It is possible to create two partitions on one disk, one of them is FAT32 for vWii, and the second one is WFS for WiiU. It is possible to do program such thing (support for WFS on partition) for a CFW. There isn't such a thing right now, I just said that it is possible to do it.
