It's actually very useful and if you can't even hold gamepad for 50 minutes in your hand then there's something wrong with you i guess.
Cringey. So because he criticised it and overall didn't like it, there's something wrong with him. Right.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Whether anyone likes it or not the second screen was a major feature of the Wii U and to deliberately remove the option to use its main feature, is letting down the people who actually bought the Wii U.
It would have been worse if Nintendo had cancelled the WiiU release completely which would have been understandable.

I said if he can't hold gamepad and not because he critised it.
I don't mind as long as people wouldn't compare old hardware to a way better newer hardware...

I'm gonna miss the wiiu gamepad screen.
I hate to say it but BOTW would have been even more awesome if the switch didn't exist. Developers had to kill the gamepad functionality like inventory management ala windwaker hd.
i think the switch should have kept the same 2 unit console so as to not loose that feature.
oh well.

No, two screens are not necessarily. One screen is good enough. I hate Wii U's gamepad screen. It looks so ugly and thicken. Ugh! Switch looks so cool style and nice looking and much thin than Wii U's gamepad!

You do mind it. If someone criticises something you like, then you'll go out of your way to bash/make fun of him/her for it. Shameful.

Exactly.

Edit:
The screen quality is also far FAR superior than the crappy 480p quality that the WiiU GamePad had. The Switch screen quality looks gorgeous in high definition. Switch! :)

Also back on-topic:
I don't think that Switch needs "dual-screens".
It's better as it is now, either play on-the-go or on your TV. [Something Wii U didn't have]
Wii U is good if you want to play, watch or relax in your home, Switch is great if you want to play or just relax and play games outside/on your balcony/or in your friends house.

No.

Nintendo banked hard on a trend they got ahold of and people bought Wiis just because they were the thing of the moment. Tons and tons were left in closets or left catching dust. It's why Nintendo thought they could do it again with the WiiU. It didn't work.
Combine that with poor marketing and development strategies, and you've got a winning combination for failure.

I also believe that this LoZ should of stuck to Wii U only. Fuck everyone else that didn't support the Wii U, they don't deserve to play this game while we stuck through with it.
I had the same notion when I first heard about the dual console launch, but in reality Nintendo didn't really have a choice if they want to survive the WiiU sales failure.

A last ditch effort to squeeze money out of a system they stopped selling months ago? K

They can survive by trying again with the Switch and developing its own unique platform of games, not piggyback off the predecessor and cater to latecomers.

Thank you.

Nintendo is a business, if they did not have strong early sales for the Switch there is a very good possibility they would have sank. They can survive one weak console, but not two in a row. We may have seen the same thing that happened to Sega, where their best software was bought out and no more consoles.

I can sympathize with an organization doing whatever it takes to make it and turn a profit but this decision to port the game not only delayed the game but also have features removed. They did this too with Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS and I dont care what Nintendo says I do believe Ice Climbers was cut due to wanting to be fair and equal to both platforms having the same characters so we dont get a full content game as a result. Porting over other Wii U games to 3DS hurts exclusivity.

If I were to have the same attitude as everyone against me then why should I support the Switch then? If I just wait it out long enough I can hope it fails so its games are ported to the 3DS or even the next console.

Are you seriously blaming the customers over Nintendo's piss poor decisions? The WiiU was dead-on-arrival and that was thanks to Nintendo's shitty plans of how it all went down. It's amazing that the WiiU lasted this long and that even BotW was released for it.

Its fault on both ends. Nintendo didnt do a good enough job making it an appealing system to buy and consumers didnt buy into it and thus gave 3rd party a reason to not support the console.

Its a game of chicken until eventually the console dies.

I prefer holding the wii u gamepad over holding the switch in handheld mode. The wii u gamepad is much more lightweight, the buttons were nice and big, the shoulder buttons were spaced very comfortably, had a nice grip too. I was playing splatoom 2 the other day and how close the shoulder buttons were on the joycons was really uncomfortable and it was hard playing it vertically bc it doesnt have that molded grip that allows you to hold it well since its just flat on the back unlike the gamepad. Anyways back on topic yeah I also agree they shouldve kept in the wii u gamepad functionality, it was already implemented and since it was being developed for the switch too they could've added in the control options that dont require the two screens without having to completely ditching gamepad controls and allowing users to switch between them on the wii u version, theres nothing wrong with more control styles, just makes people more happy to choose to use whichever one they feel more comfortable with. I liked it in windwaker hd, it had the gamepad inventory thing and if you pressed pause it paused the game while still allowinh you to have time to move around your inventory and it also allowed you to not have to pause to use the inventory if you didnt want to pause. Touch screen controls in inventory management are always more intuitive and user friendly for me, I wouldve loved for them to keep it in the wii u version.

You're still seemingly basing this on your feelings, over the reality of Nintendo's survival. To me you can keep all those complaints, even though they are mostly valid, if its the difference between them possibly folding in the future.

A fault on both ends? Nintendo is to be blamed for the disastrous commercial failure that was the WiiU. Now, third party games on the WiiU, I can agree with you because even though I'd buy them the majority didn't so it was a lost battle.

Its not personal feelings when it boils down to common sense and value. They should of stuck to their guns and made their content exclusive. Like I said before if I had the same attitude and feelings as everyone else here then I should just fold on the Switch and see how it rides out. If they want to play chicken I'm game.

I never said it wasn't their fault. What else do you have to disagree with me on?

Yes, Nintendo should've stuck with all their failed consoles and rapidly lost money because it would please a few vindictive fanboys. BotW clearly should've been Virtual Boy exclusive.
