What does any of that have to do with whether this project has the Bourne Again Shell implemented or not? This project has no access to any repositories because of the lack of a driver for the 3DS' WiFi card.
ok... but are you talking about a shell? if so, this doesn't come with a d.e., so it would have to have a shell built in. but in the future, if a driver is developed or found to work on the 3ds adaptors.

It does not necessarily mean it is bash, though.

I thought you need a display manager like zorg to do a shell, or is he talking about more of a tty1,2,3,4 situation

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

because of my understanding bash is shown to a Linux user when Linux doesn't know what to do and goes into a really basic emergency mode to try to save itself

Bash is a shell. There's a number of other shells. zsh, csh, Fish, Dash... Unless I'm mistaken, @hobbledehoy899 wants to know specifically if this shell is bash.

Does this have the Bourne Again Shell implemented?
Afaik, it uses BusyBox's shell, sh/ash?

The Bourne Again Shell and other terminal shells are not exclusively emergency rescue kits.

Darn...

Have you used the linux loader, If so , can I have a rough idea of what my directory tree should look like? I have yet to actually get this running...
This is approximately what your root directory should look like.

LOL:rofl2: I actaully meant on the sdcard, where the linux loader files go, not your actual 1TB linux partition root. ...And is that a 64 bit proccesser? I am using 8-core 64bit amd...

Besides, my linux is (always) more congested than that...

Nice, i just read this entire thread, i don't have a 3DS but i would still like to see how this turns out, maybe i'll get one
if you do, do not go with the newest and shiniest! do some research and get something below 11.3.0 and use safe a9lh installer.

@xerpi In the future, you could add a "/sdb/" to the mix that gets created at first boot up. this would allow you to basically Chroot in that dir or treat it as a "shared folder with r/w permissions" doing this would allow you to have a basic update/ upgrade system and eventually the addition of apt. also, another useful idea to go with /sdb/ as a storage dir is the (maybe) ability to use dpkg and install the packages to /sdb/.
Could this possibly work?
