Good Morning,
Something that I have often thought about is how little Nintendo had anything to do with the Gamecube Controller Adapter. It works with Smash 4 and other titles such as...
Nothing else.
Thought this was quite strange, and never really understood why they never bothered to write any patches or updates to give previous games support for it.
I think the main reason behind why they didn't support it is so they could have an excuse to sell Wii U Pro controllers instead of having people use their existing Gamecube controllers.
Any thoughts, ideas, or info? :)

You can use HID to VPAD to use the adapter on virtually any WiiU game. Sometimes homebrew does what Nintendon't :P
True, I'm just surprised that they didn't incorporate something similar themselves. Is there any input lag from this? I imagine there is.
That too. They missed the huge potential of Gamecube virtual console there.
I believe the major reason behind this is because of how large the games are. Then again, they do offer an eShop with things like Smash 4 and Zelda BotW so that wouldn't make any sense. Nintendo does some pretty silly things business wise. Japanese company living in the past.

Can we use the classic controller in wii u games? If yes, you could use a Adapter for the wiimote where you can attach a gc controller. Is used as classic controller then.

Wii U pro controllers are just better. Analog triggers are nice for a few games which use the analog feature (Mario Sunshine, racing games) but are a problem for everything else.

Still, GC controllers are wired while Wii U Pro controllers not only are wireless but their batteries lasts 2-3 times more than XB1 controller's and 10-12 times more than dualshock 4.

Yeah I bought one of those super expensive adapters to do just this, just a shame though that they couldn't bother writing a little bit of code to give native support.

"are just better" isn't a very valid reason to automatically warrent the reason to drop more money on a product when you already have working controllers and adapters made for them. Wireless controllers will always have lag on them (until the foreseeable future) and why do I need to use batteries? Just give me a wired controller, no charging, no syncing, etc.

In my case wireless controller are favorable. Im playing with a beamer that is located in some Kind of cupboard over my head. The consoles are located there too, so i have the wires coming down which is really annoying.

And the lag is notnoticeable when using original Controllers.

It's not an advertised feature, but the GC adapter actually works in some VC N64 games.
It still sucks that they didn't add support for it to vWii. A lot of Wii games and Wii VC supports GC controllers and it would be nice to have that support in vWii too. I can see why they don't add support for it to every Wii U game though. It would be more work for them, and for no benefit as they would make less money from controller sales.
