Question Regarding art sharing threads

First of all, sorry if there are errors on my post, my english isnt good enough.

Regarding this topic, at which point are we allowed to share or stuff there? I mean, if we are not sharing explicit adult themes we shouldn't have a problem with the community. There 8s a reason that subforum exists and is fir people or artists whose would love to share their work and hear other people opinions... isn't gbatemp supposed to support creativity being it related to homebrew/games development or art?

Recently a thread on the Art sharing subforum was closed due to sexualised content being shared or talked... I think there was something mistaken... you are restricting someone' freedom to share his/her art related stuff... I know why it was closed, i tried my best to look for rules breaking stuff, but i didn't find anything. The stuff on the op were no way nsfw and shouldn't be considered like that. Nothing shared was explicit nor implicit, everything was meant to be friendly at least for a +12 audience.

About the stuff being talked on the posts, i mean seriously, we are not able now to make induendos? to talk about who we are? What we like?

Now, regarding the fa stuff... seriously? No links were gave, no username were gave, fa was just mentioned and that's all. Cant we talk now about online galleries? Almost every online gallery has nsfw hosted on it, but it is s natter of the user if he wants to search for that stuff over there. If we apply that logic, even social media shouldnt be allowed to be mentioned, since even twitter is used to share artistic stuff and nsfw material.

What i try to say is, that it was s bit rude to close a thread without talking to the op first and look for a fix for it... We should be able to share our stuff if we are not doing something wrong.

Heck, i have seen a lot if weebs sharing boobs and lolis on the eof, or people talking worse things on other forums, users saying the word "dick" without concerns... but yeah, bevause it is weeb it is ok to do so.

@DespyCL : I've said it time and time again, the chibi one had SEVERAL VERSIONS. One being "groped" by tentacles (I'd rather say covered, but whatever). And one completely nude.
I'd like to tell you a story about a professional manga translator here in Sweden, that was convicted for "child pornography" because one of the several thousands of Japanese manga he had at home had a nude character that "had too small breasts to be of legal age".

I would also like to say this, and I say this not as a moderator, this is my PERSONAL opinion:
Custom themes with "sexy anime characters" or "sexy video game characters" (or even "sexy furry characters"). People tend to enjoy sexy characters as themes / backgrounds for some reason.
However, having a page dedicated to a single users furry persona... why? Why not having a text in your signature instead: "Lilith on FA, user crystaltheglaceon". That way you're not linking to a site with NSFW content, but those interested would understand anyway.
That site / page has the same images as the thread here had + more information and even some 18+ content if you register to the site.

In other words. If you have a page on a furry community, with a lot of friends there, why need to make "the same" page in another community with the same friends?
End of personal, non-mod thoughts.

...Is this thread still making the rounds? Seriously? Being passive aggressive towards staff, or just whining and stomping your feet will do absolutely nothing do help matters. Like it's been said 10 times already, if you see something that's NSFW, then report it, don't come here to cry about it. No one is omnipotent to see every bit of potential NSFW post and magically know when and where it's posted, so don't just cry about it, do something about it. There's no debating whether it was NSFW or not, it obviously had grounds to be removed, as clearly and concisely stated by Issac and Bortz. I don't know why this matter bothers people so.

I'm sure there are worse pictures in there. And as i said report them. But even so the chibi pic sounds wayyyy worse than anything in that anime thread. It's a bit hard to say given that i haven't seen the pic, but from how its described it sounds bad.

To be fair, if you were actually at work, I don't think any of this would be safe there, whether it was censored tentacle furs or revealing anime girls. Both should have been removed, honestly.

That said, what I'm irritated by is the difference in treatment between anime and furry content, and the moderators' attitude towards furries in general.

This thread has gone back and forth. Between questionable mod motives and furry bashing (pathetic, really).

The point has been made. It's been cleared up why the post was removed/censored. Crystal has left us, for now. Can we just lock this up already? Or will that cause more issues that shouldn't really exist?

Yes, we aren't on a furry-hating crusade here. We're just trying to make the boat float as Costello said. If we get reported for NSFW stuff to Google, that will stop the ad cash flow which is necessary to pay for the server expenses. Feel free to report any stuff that is over-sexualised and the staff will take care of it on a per-case basis.

Some of you are taking this far to personally.

1. The staff has no issue with people identifying as "furries" or having furry avatar/signatures. This is about what is and is not acceptable on a gaming forum.

2. The reason furries seem to be "targeted" in this instance is because this was (at Minox said) the straw that broke the camel's back. There has been a growing number of posts containing "smutty" or "inappropriate" images. 3 dice rolls out of 4, it seems to be furry artwork that is either over the line or pushing the envelope. I would assume it might be related to how many members identify as furries. That is why it might seem that furries are the target of this ridicule. Again, not all rectangles are squares.

3. What was discussed after the fact was that we will be taking a harder stance against NSFW content as well as other questionable posts as well. Obviously showing genitalia is NSFW. But a slutty wet anime chick in a skimpy bikini is just as bad. Or an overly muscled tiger with a fluffy bulge in his pants. None are appropriate, even if they are fully covered.

4. If you see inappropriate content, report it. Real life porn stars, busy anime chicks, fuzzy fox sluts, loli, whatever. If its inappropriate, its inappropriate and shouldn't be hosted on our site. Do not abuse the report system. Spamming or taking advantage of the Report function is a good way to get suspended.
