I don't know if this has been asked yet, but does this stack with the Vita memory card? Say you had a 16GB flash drive and an 8GB memory card... would that give you 24GB of storage, or do you have to choose between the two?
No, memory card replaces internal storage, and USB (remounted as ux0) replaces both

Also, if I transferred Vita files to my PC with QCMA, how would I put them on a flash drive? Where are they stored? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Proprely shutdown your console and insert the usb in your computer, you'll be able to freely view and edit its contents :)
This means that for backups, you just put them into the "mai" folder, etc

think of it as if it was vitashell except limited to ux0 and with your computer's UI

What is the point of refreshing the LiveArea?
It generates bubbles for all apps that for whatever reason (database reset, etc) are installed to the device that is currently ux0 but don't appear on home

Is there anyway to force the henkaku installer to use the latest update of vitashell? I have to keep copying the eboot.bin file from vitashell to molecule every time i boot. :wtf:
Huh, never thought of doing that... why not install Vitashell as standalone app?

You could kinda spend like a week downloading the games on the ps3 then doing wireless transfers to psvita... unless maybe somehow a wired transfer is possible. :ninja:
Wireless transfers from PS3 to PS Vita would take you quite some time yeah.
The question would probably be in what kind of format and encryption the downloaded Vita games are stored on the PS3.

I already do that, the problem is that molecule has the options that vitashell doesn't You can't enable unsafe homebrew from vita shell, it has to be done with molecule. Which is why i use it in the first place. If that wasn't the case i would just use vitashell if i somehow know why this restriction was placed.

Well who knows, one thing i do know is you can't use the CMA on vita tv without wifi access. Is not possible to create direct connection between consoles, wirelessly akin to remote play or with ethernet. (Which would maybe help in this case) It has to be done over the same wifi network like the pc. The problem here is the CMA since you can't perform file management operations without it. Unlike having a psp where you just plug it in and from ps3 perform file operations, the vita must do the commands not ps3.

Anyway unless there is some way around this, good luck filling your ps3 HDD with vita games and then transfering them to the vita tv all month. :P

Are you updated to the latest version 1.61? Is been recently noted this should fix serious issues regarding the usb mounting.

What exactly are you using? Perhaps the HDD doesn't have enough power Akin to a wii u situation?
Yep that was the problem i have a 2tb external drive the mini single usb cable it wont power i tried a 4tb wall power hard drive and worked like a charm. its a shame we wont be able to use the smaller ones

Just like a wiii u, use a y cable to get more power. Of course it means having another usb port somewhere close by to work, unless your HDD supports external AC adaptors.

It has to do with the separate but related fact that molecularshell is an old vitashell (with a different livearea theme); they most likely want one to be "Henkaku's official file manager" and the other one happens to be (practically speaking) a generic file manager with more features...

Well i wouldn't know, i didn't make it. Though weather molecule or vita shell wanted to be official, if there was a way to restore the advance options in the vitashell i guess it wouldn't be much of a problem. That or maybe just update henkaku installer to always use the latest version of vitashell.

I had another question so when i get a hard drive mounted will it automatically transfer all my saves and games to the external hard drive from the memory card or do i need to manually transfer it in vitashell?

By the way guys before you start transferring everything I've come across some games not running from USB. I've used a brand new 128gb sandisk USB and some games are not running from USB.

How does one mount a usb AS ux:0?, i can get it to mount fine as uma:0, but can't unmount or remount ux:0 with uma:0 mounted. If i try it all gets corrupt and I have to shut down PSTV.

...nvm found a README!

Vitashell automatically copies the essentials (vitashell itself and little more) when you remount uma0 as ux0; then you can make it uma0 again and transfer everything manuallly

TheFloW has just released VitaShell 1.60! This update offers the ability for PSTV owners to mount USB drives as both a separate partition, and as the memory card itself!

You'll have to install the update manually, as the network update isn't working. You can grab the latest release here: https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/VitaShell/releases

Holy mother of Vita... I knew fl0w was a smart guy but damn! I've got no reason to not play now O.o
