Hey, I'm trying to do this but after launching Mocha CFW through the hbl and going back to the main menu I can't get the hbl to launch through Mii Maker and when I try and launch it through the browser it can't find the launcher. What should the root of my usb look like so it loads properly?

You're correct. The WiiU creates it. Dimok's recollection was apparently inaccurate.
Maybe it was a planned safeguard that never made it into the code.
Maybe, I really don't know xD. But I will be using wup isntaller after march 3. I am waiting for the last big wii u game to come out to be 100% secure of what I am doing.

format your hdd to fat32, and do everything like it was a sd card. Now I am using wup installer, so this method is for people who don't want to use it.
This is the problem. I format it in the wiiu then that's it I can't install nothing on it as windows wants to format it. I tried changing /allocating a drive number but the HDD is completely unusable. How or what program do you use to add files on your fat 32 HDD. Another member from another thread said its impossible to write anything on the HDD so how do u do it?

This is next to useless tbh as you games are still extremely slow and have all the same limits as loadiine...

I guess if you want to use a drive between wii/wiiu then it is useful.

Dude he even wrote to put the elf file in the hdd. How??????

Great. I already kill one of 128 GB microSD by the constant writes that I did to them while I was trying to get things working. Now I get to try it out but with an HDD which are much better at multiple writes. Will try this as soon as I finish playing BoTW..

Mmmm. you don't have to put your hdd on the wii u to format, just use guiformat to format it to fat32 and then put the files, When you format an hdd with your wii u it is unusuable by your pc until your format it again.

It will do until you boot mocha. If you autoboot mocha with cbhc you won't get that format nag. The patches to use fat32 are only applied in mocha.

I did that. I ignored the format HDD msg and booted mocha. Then went into web exploit then loadiine and it showed contents from SD card not the USB
What an I doing wrong

When you ran Mocha and it restarted back to the Wii U Menu, did you get the format message that time? Take a look at the HDD from your PC. If the Wii U recognized the FAT32 drive, it would have created /usr and several directories under /usr, like /usr/title. Do you see any of those?

hmmm i wonder if we can use this method to install games with wup gx2??
You can install from FAT32 USB to system storage, but not to FAT32. You can copy the installed folders over to the drive after you've installed them, but that's not actually installing them. Also, the performance when executing games is around loadiine's speed. I don't use wup gx2, so I don't know if that specific app will work for the installs, but it should.
