Quick question: Is it possible to dump a save in the system memory to use for USB Loader GX?

You mean copy to the NAND or from it? Save Game Manager GX can do both or you can use the "dump saves" feature in the Features menu but I can't remember if it allows you to choose or just dumps all of them.

Y'know all saves are saved either in system memory and/or SD card. Is it possible to copy the saves to an SD and use it for USB Loader GX? Do you have to convert it to be usable? Does it stay in the SD or goes to the USB?

Oh, no, it can't read the saves the System Menu copies from the data management settings.

You can make a new folder on your SD card and dump your existing saves from the console memory to it and use that instead, though.

I'm sure Save Game Manager GX can dump the save usable for USB Loader GX, yea?

Yes. It has an option for EmuNAND path. If you point that at a folder on SD it does the same thing that dumping from the loader does. For saves you copied to SD from the menu you'll have to copy them back to the console first, though.

So, here's what I think I do: I use Save Game Manager GX to dump the saves straight to the SD as an EmuNAND save. SysNAND and EmuNAND I sorta understand. So, when saved as an EmuNAND save, I put it in the SD in a folder where I keep saves. Then, when I go to USB Loader GX, I can set the file path for saves to the folder. Is that even possible, setting paths for saves and games and stuff?

Yes. You can't change the /games path for Wii discs but in Custom Paths there are two EmuNAND options. The first one is for where you want saves stored, the second is for channel-based titles. It's fine to set them to the same folder.

I get a 32 GB Cruzer USB stick to use for USBLoader GX. I use WBFS manager to format the USB to WBFS, and then put the ISOs in the USB stick. I use UStealth so that the Wii U doesn't format the USB, since it'll delete everything if so. I then go to vWii, startup USBLoader GX, and then press the "+" button to add games. Unfortunately, I get the message "Failed to initialize USB." Is is a problem on how I handled the ISOs? Is it the USB itself?

Hi, I'd like to ask something:

I tried to force Mega Man 9 and 10 play at 480P using USB Loader GX, but they ignore it and keep booting at 480i. Not only that, but other options like language, or Aspect Ratio won't work either.

Is there anything that could be done to, at least, been able to force them to be played at 480P? Forcing other games didn't give me trouble.

Hi new to the forums but I wanted to say as a noob I have already spent a lot of time here and I wanted to say thanks to everyone that takes time out to answer questions.

So I am new to Wii hacking/homebrew. I had an old Wii and thought what the hell why not that could be fun. I tried to follow all the correct guides. I have a PAL Wii version 4.3 installed.

So far I
- Used letterbomb and installed the HB Channel
- installed BootMii and made a backup
- Installed a CIOS based on this guide - https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/backup-launchers/installation
- installed Priiloader
- Installed Retroarch and Nintendont
- Installed USB Launcher GX and managed to run a NTSC Wii backup no problems by adding the Wii ISO to my USB drive using Wii Backup Manager

Right now everything is running through the Homebrew Channel I dont have any forwarders set up or anything like that.

So my issue is that I want to try to load some WAD backups of WiiWare and VC games I have. All my backups are NTSC region. I followed this guide from Cyan (https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-do-...properly-utilize-emunand.437521/#post-6592730). I am pretty sure I am using USB Loader v1260 as that is what it says when loading.

Well I followed the tutorial to dump nand to emunand. It seemed to work fine. I then used the built in Wad manager to try to install several different Wads. I tried three different ones (3 WiiWare and 1 Wii VC TG16 game). They all had the same result. The USBLGX loading screen would pop up with the game art and when I click launch or whatever it would go black and then kick me back to the HomeBrew channel.

Just in case I tried to add a Wad with ShowMiiWads/ShowMiiNand. This time I only tried the TG16 game. And I got the exact same result.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this issue? I understand that some WiiWare games need Neek/Neek2o but I havent gotten that far becuase as I understood regular VC games should run fine with emunand through USB Loader GX. Does this have anything to do with me trying to run NTSC games on my PAL system?

Wall of text directly above this post

Ok so it was the wrong CIOS (v10 beta53-alt). I changed 249 and 250 to v10 beta52. However I am still running into some issues which I need help with (reminder, all WADs are NTSC and my Wii is PAL).

- WiiWare - I tried Cave Story (which I saw in another thread was recommended by Cyan to test Emunand. It worked fine. The other WiiWare I tried only loaded a black screen (MegaMan 9 and Excite Bike Rally) Both these games are listed as compatible with Emunand in the compatability chart so not sure why they dont work. Maybe they just have to run in Neek mode?

- Generally WADs from NES, SNES, Genesis, NeoGeo are working after I tell the games to lanch in forced NTSC mode. I only tried one game per system though.

- Arcade VC - I tried 1 WAD loaded through USBLGX (Ghosts n Goblins). I always get an error after loading on a black screen that says "An error occurred during the process of reading from or writing to the Wii System Memory. Please refer to the WIi Operations Mnaual for details.). Then I need to do a hard power down. Any ideas why that is?

- Master System - I tried one game that I cannot get to work (RType). No matter what I choose (force PAL50/60/480p or force NTSC/480P) it loads to a black screen but I can hear the music. I see my TV change to 576 interlaced mode but no video. Any help here?

Finally - Following all the great advice on this site from Cyan and others I managed to set up UNEEK and can run WiiWare games off my Neek environment or book them from USB Loader (through Neek). It was a lot of reading but it works!

BUT this whole project started as I wanted to play Castlevania Rebirth and Contra Rebirth. The games run fine but they only run in 480 interlaced and look blurry. I have component cables and my TV supports 480P. I tried running them in forced NTSC and NTSC 480P but nothing they still launch in 480i. I seem to find info online that these games run in 480i for PAL and 480p for NTSC. Why cant i run in 480P. Any ideas?

NEW UPDATE - So after messing with the 3 rebirth games trying to get them to launch in 480P I somehow broke Neek mode. WTF? Now when press 1 to access the menu the list of games is gone. When I try to launch Contra Rebirth from the tile in Neek mode it says the game is not accessible or compatible (I forget). Contra Rebirth still launches fine from USB Loader with Neek turned on in the launch settings but for some reason its broken lanching in Neek.

I am getting pretty frustrated :( I have several computers that can run Dolphin fine but I thought this Wii stuff would be a fun project. It is tough!

Do it manually. If you bought the games you may want to work with a different title id.
480p:
Code:
 02028001E001E000280000028001E0000000000000000006060606060606060606060606060606060606060606060600001516150000
Uncompress the 00000001.app with wwcxtool and write the above code to addresses:
0x28DB83
0x28DBFB
0x28DBBF
0x291C73
0x291CAF
0x291CEB
0x291D27
Otherwise known as all the video modes in MM9. Now for MM10:
0x31FCC3
0x31FD3B
0x31FCFF
0x323E1B
0x323E57
0x323E93
0x323ECF
It's only necessary to change the video mode the game is using but it doesn't hurt to change them all.
You can leave 01.app uncompressed, or compress it to save a little space. Pack wad and install it.
Now both games support progressive scan and only that. These changes are for the NTSC-U versions and won't work for PAL.

Well I was determined to get this working so I blew up my mod and started over with ModMii. I also used ModMii to change my region completely from PAL to NTSC. That seemed to fix it. Castlevania Rebirth launches in 480P :))))

ALso R-Type for Master System worked.

Ghosts N Goblins arcade still didnt work in Emunand but I havent tried Neek mode yet. I guess it should work.

However, in Neek mode the list of games is gone when you press 1. The only games that show up are the 1 Wii ISO and 1 GC ISO i have on my USB. All the WiiWare arent on there. Which is weird becuase I was sure I saw a large games list before. Anyone have an idea what is happening here?

That menu only shows titles that can be mounted on the disc channel.

Hey everyone,
Recently I've been occasionally having a problem with my wiimote when using USBLGX. Motion controls always work fine when I'm on the wii's home menu, but sometimes, when I load up USBLGX, the movement of the wiimote is not detected, locking the cursor at the center of the screen. The buttons on the wiimote still work correctly. Sometimes resetting the console and reloading USBLGX fixes this problem, sometimes it doesn't.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, how did you fix it?

Ok so after working on this for several weeks (really way too much time lol), I thought everything was working.

The games that dont work in emunand work when I boot them in Neek mode. I cannot launch directly into the Neek homepage becuase I think I just have too many WiiWare/VC games (over 700). I saw another poster with that issue before. I even have Snort 48 as the second WAD I installed (after NSwitch) before I installed any games but when I try to launch Neek mode it just stays as a black screen. Sometimes I get the Health And Safety press A screen but after that just black.

Anyways its not the end of the world because I can just launch games with Neek mode in the games options. BUT! There are still some titles that dont work!

I havent tested all the games but it seems that some Virtual Console Arcade games are not working. Specifically Ghosts and Goblins. When I launch it in Neek mode the screen goes black and I waited for 30 minutes but nothing.

There was a post in this thread by someone with a similar problem from last year. I know @Cyan touched on it but does anyone know if there is a fix for this?
