The only thing I am unsure of is if my Haxchi is set up to autoboot to system menu. I have to click Haxchi before loading any game so I'm guessing it isnt set to autoboot. I found a tutorial for cold booting Haxchi is this what I should follow to make the system autoboot? https://gbatemp.net/threads/haxchi-coldboot-autobooting-haxchi-installer.452208/
Yeah. CBHC is what I use. Cold boot to system menu with CBHC means are in a sigpatched sysNAND CFW. Everything should work fine. Including non legit titles.

CBHC is working great and installed WUP installer gx2 channel which worked the first time but after reboot every time I load it I get error 199-9999. Any idea?

For WiiU modding, this is the way to go currently (late January 2017):

0) ignore anybody mentioning rednand, mocha, loadiine, tickets, simple "brazilian" USB loading (although the latter is technically part of what you're gonna do);
1) update your Wii U to 5.5.1 asap (before 5.5.2 is out, not saying that's a given, but it is a possibility with the new Zelda)
2) buy a suitable (for haxchi) DS game from eShop asap (again, before 5.5.2 is out); don't be a cheapstake, it could mean wasting the chance of a lifetime to perma-hack the WiiU; choose the DS game you like the least among the suitable ones, as you won't be able to play it (probably "Brain Age" is a good bet)
3) install haxchi to test if everything works before installing automatic-haxchi (as stated by every automatic-haxchi guide)
4) install automatic-haxchi (called "CBHC")
5) install "homebrew channel" on Wii U
6) install "WUP Installer GX2 Version 1.1" on Wii U
7) install "Wii U USB helper" on pc, when asked for a source of keys insert the link to the first result when googling "wii u keys"
8) find games (like CoD) that aren't in "Wii U USB helper" elsewhere, they must be "USB ready"
9) use an SD card as boat to carry stuff from PC to WiiU, and on WiiU use "Wup Installer GX2 Version 1.1" to install stuff to USB HDD; install up to 300 games
10) just play with your wii U and never touch the "hack" part ever again (except for updating CBHC), as anything (not actually) could conflict with CBHC and lead to a brick; for the love of god don't try to delete or reinstall the DS game used for the hack or you will brick; for the love of everything that's pure and beautiful in this world, don't format your WiiU while CBHC is set up or you will royally brick
11) block updates with DNS (or disable networking altogether if you don't plan to play online)
12) don't bother with hacking vWii, just grab a real Wii on ebay and don't put your fragile WiiU in jeopardy, as even a vWii related crash followed by force restart could brick your WiiU
13) come back to gbatemp in 5 years when the dust will settle for more advanced stuff (WiiU native backup USB loaders with ISO fat32 support, WiiU native emulators, etc.) if you want to revamp your mod

this setup plays anything (sigpatch) from any region (region patch), so it's better than plain simple usb loading formerly known as "brazilian method"; it loads automatically when you start your WiiU and can be used completely offline (no need to visit a website), so it feels like a perma-hack

paste this guide to any noob confused by the crapton of outdated information, word salads and stuff meant for advanced tinkerers

Wii U modding is dead simple (or limited one could say) at the moment. This video is straightforward as it gets, just use up to date files (WARNING: could be outdated if you're reading this past January 2017):

@nickjdunn

Strangely today I got the exact same error with WUP installer GX2 app. It happened to me after attaching an external USB HDD. Before that worked like a charm everytime. Now I just use official WUP installer through HBC. Too bad as the graphical interface is nice of GX2.

So I retried WUP installer GX2 without the external USB HDD and it did not give me the error. Then I tried to boot up GX2 without HDD attached and it worked like it did before, plugged in the external HDD while I was in GX2. Still no freeze.

Then I tried to install a game from SD card to external USB HDD and it crashed the WiiU with some stack error. Don't think I am the only one with this error on GX2, unless it has something to do with a specific brand/type external HDD. I guess its back to the normal WUD installer app in HBC.

There's a version which fixes DSI error. Take a look, it's somewhere

So I tried installing some of the games that didnt work yesterday using haxchi with the HBL WUP installer. The games that didn't work on haxchi still didn't work with WUP installer but came back with an error code: 0xFFFBF442 Verify WUP files are correct & complete. DLC/E-shop require Sig

I downloaded all my content from USB helper and let it verify the files when transferring to SD.

You have to rename the folder that have weird symbols within the game title or just erase the symbols. USB helper downloads some titles that way such as pokken has that tilda or Zelda has registered trademark logo.

I see a lot of concern regarding vWii being hacked, should the vWii be restored back to stock or not to continue with CFW installation? I have looked for an answer everywhere and I only found other users asking the same thing but no answer provided.

vWii has nothing to do with Wii U CFW. One does not affect the other

My concern comes from step #12 above...

My vWii was hacked since the first hack was made available for it, hence the reason why I would like to bring it back to stock before I try anything CFW related stuff. If returning vWii back to stop is impossible or not a requirement I can just go ahead and install CFW. Thanks for your time responding before Kafluke.

The only thing that I've seen is when someone bricks their vWii by trying to hack it with Wii tools. If your vWii is bricked you cannot update your Wii U to latest firmware.

If your vWii is hacked and working fine and you're already on 5.5.1 then you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

There's 0 chance of you messing up your Wii U just because your vWii is hacked. CFW isn't really even true CFW. It's just a temporary patch that goes away on reboot anyway. It's not really a dangerous hack.

You don't need to restore your vWii to non hacked to play with Wii U Homebrew. TBH I don't even know why the author would say that in his guide. Makes no sense

I guess I wasn't understanding all that information too well. Thank you dude, I appreciate your time helping me out.
