I recently found my WiiU which I had it in storage for about 3 years. I tried started to do the Homebrew stuff but there's way too much information and I'm getting extremely lost. What do I need to do to get a perma-hack so I can unsigned codes? What do I need to use to copy my dics into a USB HDD and play it off that?

Also, how do you get homebrew channel installed, which I think answers my question above. I tried following the sticky but, at least to me, is vague and I can't get anywhere with it?

What I did so far
1) Installed /www/ onto my Android device
2) Made KWS start server from /www/
3) Connected WiiU and Android to same Wifi Network
4) Redirected WiiU Browswer to IP listed on KWS

I can't get past this.

To get Homebrew Channel "installed" you will need Haxchi and use it to launch HBC with the command you desire when installing Haxchi. But that means you need to buy a DS title compatible, so Haxchi is overwritten on it.
BUT you don't need Haxchi to hack your Wii U, you can self host the exploit. People said self hosting and using Mocha CFW has a higher successful rate, and is 100% free.

If you still confused what I'm saying, I recommend you just try using bacis, like doing the browser exploit a few times (with loadiine.ovh website or any other you may like), to run Homebrew Channel and CFWs, or any other Homebrew app you want, so you get used to it and understand what you're doing, and then in the future know what would be better for you.
This option can be tedious sometimes, because you will need to do the browser exploit every time you want to run a Homebrew or CFW.

Note that if you want to do the Brazilian method (it install games into your Wii U HDD and you play them directly from the Home Menu as a digital game you bought at eShop), you will need to run CFWs (the process above) every time you want to play games with DLC or VC games you installed using the exploit.
If the game don't have, or if you don't install any DLC, you won't need to do the exploit and run CFW, you can run the game normally as any game.

Now if you own a physical copy of the game and you want to install it, you can dump and install it on your Wii U using Homebrew apps, and if you actually paid for the DLCs, as I know, I think they will work properly as you used to do, don't need to run any CFW or hack for them to work, you will only need do the hack process to dump your game(s).

The easiest (and only, as I remember) "permanent" hack you can get now is CBHC+Haxchi, but it will cost money (less than 10 bucks).
With CBHC you can auto-run CFW at boot

Wow, ninja'd. Just when I was putting the finishing touches :rofl2:
I'm gonna post this anyway just cause I typed so much. No offense @gutoblauth

Make sure your Wii U is on the latest firmware, as of this writing, version 5.5.1. All the cool kids use it now.
Plus, as far as I'm aware, there is no benefit to being on older firmwares, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Don't blame me if 5.5.X magically comes out and your updated to it.

Read all threads and thank the makers.

Block future updates using this
https://gbatemp.net/threads/dns-u-new-update-blocking-dns-server.436346/

There are two side-effects when blocking updates:
1) You also block your ability to use the Eshop.
2) The system will ALWAYS say it failed to download an update, even when there is no update, so don't panic.

You CAN play online while blocking updates.

There are a few ways to launch the Homebrew Launcher but first you need to set up your SD card.

Grab the Homebrew Launcher from here.
https://github.com/dimok789/homebrew_launcher/releases

All your homebrew apps including the Homebrew Launcher will go in
SD:/wiiu/apps/

Grab more apps from the Temp or here
http://www.wiiubru.com/appstore/#/

If your looking to play Smash Wii U mods grab this app especially.
http://www.wiiubru.com/appstore/#/app/SDcafiine

With all that set up we can move on to launch methods.
Here are three that I know about.

1) Easiest
Go to loadiine.ovh/ on your Wii U
Follow the sites instructions.

2) Use your Android phone or tablet
There are two apps for hosting exploits. Follow their instructions.

Updated
http://gbatemp.net/threads/release-...by-oldsk00l-uses-kaflukes-aio-package.439740/

or this

Hasn't been updated in a while but worked great when I used it
https://gbatemp.net/threads/android-app-for-self-hosting-exploit-5-5-1.425496/

3) Use Haxchi. Requires purchasing a specific DS game.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/haxchi-v2-0-a-persistent-wiiu-hack.451071/

If you followed all of the above you should be able to launch Homebrew. Congrats. Now go figure everything else out, cause I haven't.

Here are some useful links:
Games on USB

Perma-Hack (not really) Like gutoblauth said, this as good as it gets
https://gbatemp.net/threads/cbhc-v1-6-coldboot-haxchi-cfw.452615/

You probably already did, but read gutoblath's post. They explain some stuff I didn't

Thank you, i just found this as you posted. Just a question, does this also make me run other region games? I happen to have a US and JP WiiU with games for both regions, would prefer to use only one of the system if it is possible
According to what is posted. Using Mocha CFW allows any region games to work on the system. If you aren't using Mocha CFW there is a homebrew called Our loader which does the same thing. So either way you can. It will not harm system and you can see for yourself. :)

If I'm using disc2app, do I need to use Haxchi? Or can I just install games to my System Menu, reboot and have them work without a CFW?

They should since disc2app dumps legit ticket.
You don't need to boot into CFW, they should work.

Hmm, not sure if I'm reading the right thing but i take is rednand is better because it's faster than original (depending on sd card). Either way, I did the rednand procedure, my sdcard is definitely less space (partitioned taken) but i can't seem to get it to boot to it, it appears it's sysnand. since I'm this far, what is the possible reason rednand isn't booting?

I was also able to boot mocha, i think? it had a light brownish splash screen with mocha written / icon etc then it booted to original wiiu screen. Not sure if i did things right though
