Ever downloaded something for eShop? Max stable rate for me was 520kb-2mb/s max. [Even if i put it besides my router, nothing changed]a freeshop on the WiiU would be better no matter what I mean come on NO PC NEEDED so what its slow ???
Theres NO PC needed if its like the 3DS freeshop it would dowwnload the games and give the direction to install to nand or to usb !
its actually becoming annoying you need to have a huge **** SD card to transfer the game that you downloaded on pc then go into haxchi or whatever you use to then install to usb..at the biggest Ihave a 16 micro x.x
Yes I know its piracy, its bad its still is neat!!
face it the WiiU is dead heck the 3DS is getting more love from Nintendo even throwing out updates so our 3DS's are more stable then a god dang Diamond Armored Horse x.x....
Most WiiU games that were gonna come have dropped support we are left with what we have most of us me included have bought all the games we wanted I have many with a few I couldnt nab due to uncertainty this Freeshop idea was neat!
We can't give up on this! this would be amazing! so its slow someone can optimize it there is always a way!
Please dont give up!
Would you rather download a full game in about an hour or two, depending on how good your connection on your PC is, or 12 - 24 hours? That is literally the difference.a freeshop on the WiiU would be better no matter what I mean come on NO PC NEEDED so what its slow ???

Well then it wouldn't do you any good. Where do you think any type of Freeshop would save the install files before it installs them? All homebrew installation methods install the files from SD cards too. So yeah, if you don't have a SD card big enough, may as well not even think about it any more.Given the fact, I don't have a SD card big enough ...
As I said before, the challenge has already been met, there IS a working Freeshop, but it's not even worth it on the Wii U, and not worth releasing. And once you get a SD card big enough, then you may as well download on the PC like it's done now.I actually thought some of you top level modders/Hackers liked a challenge maybe ..maybe I was wrong ..
Love your priorities in life.A someone who doesn't have access to a computer and owns only a full sized sd card large enough, yes I would wait 12-24 hours to download @brienj
Love your priorities in life.
Chromebooks can run Linux, JNUStool runs in Java, which runs in Linux. You said you had no computer, well, you have a way to run JNUSTool, and JNUSTool may even be able to be compiled for your phone, if it's Android. At any rate, I know that this will never be released publicly, but there is plenty of source code available on Github to make Freeshop if someone wanted to, I was just letting you all know that it is possible, and has been tested to work, and abandoned because it royally sucks, and would cause a shit storm with Nintendo.I do own a phone and a chromebook which honestly does everything I need to get down in life at the moment. I got to university, make notes, do research, use microsoft office, email, calendar, video call, it's all I need out of a computer.
Am I supposed to buy a computer just for downloading wiiu games? That seems unreasonable.
Just want to show you that there is a potential user base. And since all the work is done as you said, what's the harm in releasing...?
Whoever said it was MY project? I've seen the source code though, and it's super simple to do with all the available source code on GitHub. The actual downloading code is less than 100 lines of code. Just find the code for one of the several NUS downloaders, and the source of a bunch of homebrew that uses sockets. It's not rocket-science.So you abandoned a project cause YOU believed it sucked!! SERIOUSLY there are people who would want this who would appreciate this due to ether not owning a pc or a working one those that have large SD cards but again no pc there are many situations where this would be handy & because you are spoiled and because the program isn't speedy and doesn't give the game as fast as YOU would want, you decide it's not fit for public ...Sigh sadly then you should of never opened your mouth about it !
I'm sorry I'm done with nice you made obvious this is possible I won't ever give it up now ..
We need someone who CARES to make this ..
Freeshop can be done on the WiiU maybe in the future a caring person will make it optimized will make it with more features but this program can be done !
Oh and like Nintendo would give a care
Nintendo gave up on the WiiU ..did you forget that WiiU is dead one more game and maybe a bunch of eshop titles otherwise it's free time to have fun with this thing ..
sure if they pull it (that is if they even care to bother) it would of already be in the web somebody would of gotten it and then it lives forever in the hands of users look at freeshop still can't be killed ...
Exactly, and this is why he hasn't bothered making it more user friendly or release it. The speed is the biggest issue. It's really not worth it at the crappy speeds you get on the Wii U.As one of the creators of CIAngel, let me just say this is completely possible, wouldn't be all that hard to implement a command-line-like version (GUI similar to CIAngel), but it's for most people completely pointless.
After doing some tests on my WiiU, with both Wifi and an ethernet dongle, the connection is complete shit, and would take 8+ hours to download a standard game. You still need the full games size in free space on your SD card (Unlike the 3DS, the WiiU does not have a "download to installed state" mode).
I get that some peoples internet sucks, or they don't have a PC, or whatever. But the people with the know-how to implement something like this are unlikely to if there's no benefit to themselves or most other people.
Also, lawl, afraid of Nintendo. CIAngel was the first program of its type, nothing before it allowed "installing backups" DIRECTLY on a console from the console company's own CDN. We haven't pulled CIAngel, and have no plans to, because Nintendo can't really come after us, nothing we're doing is against the law Now, how end-users USE the tool, that can be questionable, but that's not our problem.I think the problem is not the download speed but they are afraid of what nintendo would do if the homebrew is publicly released.
The proof is that they don't share any beta or source code.
