guys, what should i do?
i was about to get a i7 7700k
should i go for ryzen?
or should i wait until intel fights back?
Don't bait.
Just wait.
You know, for serious reviews or so.
I wouldn't buy a Ryzen until at least April if I were you.
If you can, postpone your purchase for one month.

i postponed my purchase last month because i was hoping intel would drop their prices, (and in fact they did a few bucks)
however, since amd claims its top of the line processor (which i recall seing it costed about 500 bucks) can beat the lastest intel extreme cpu (which is more than a thousan bucks)
i could go for that 500 dollars bucks processor,
a 7700k will cost me 370 euros (wich is 390 dollars) i have saved a bit more cash, i could go for the top of the line ryzen...

I say go for the R7 1700X, if you do at all. On paper it's just a bit underclocked than the 1800X for a $100 less. Something you could easily overcome through a '200mhz' OC.

how much money you want to spend? If you need it now, get AMD for cheaper. If you can wait, see what intel has up its sleeves (if anything).

Wonder what the comparison is to my core i7 4790K emulation wise. Would be interesting to know how well dolphin and pcsx2 run on ryzen.

I would wait at least until we get reviews and more benchmarks to make a purchase (so around March 2, I believe ?). Unless 10ish days or so is too much for you to wait.

can wait, have 1000 euros for the whole pc without the gpu (will save up money and get a great one for christmas, or will wait for next flagship gpu)
if the system does not have a integrated gpu for now, i have a basic one laying around from my old pc
already choose everything including cooler. i also concidered in going with a X99 mobo and cpu but i have my reasons not to go with it.. (price going to the sky, higher electricity consumption ,x299 chipset comming out later this year, heard that it's very bitchy with ram and setups)

I think I will start having a serious look at building some real PC around Ryzen 1700X + RX480.
That combo looks really cheap and good performing. (I might even get down to 1700, it seems to perform good enough already).
Hell, I haven't build a PC in almost ten years, but this looks good.
I'll be waiting for real benchmarks....

Weird NCIX says the MSI B350 chipset supports multi-GPU.

I don't really see myself being an early adopter of this new architecture. The price is very nice though. It seems like you can get some i7 performance for half the price. Same thing with the 2 RX480's come to less than a GTX1080. Pretty much all new games support multi gpu setups and multi threading since Mantle and Vulcan support.

AMD is pushing enthusiast gaming for a more budget price. I still see gaming performance lagging behind computing power. I doubt we will ever push these CPUs to its full potential anytime soon.

True, I myself plan to jump on the AMD bandwagon when the 2nd gen Ryzen CPUs are launched. I just built a computer last December and it has just about enough gaming power for 1080p gaming, and I don't really do video editing or streaming etc.

Uh, dude, I'm 31 years old lol, I've used Intel since 2004, never had a single CPU fry, same with NVidia GPUs, never had a single one of theirs fail. I had an AMD Athlon fry on me, and an old ATI/AMD GPU constantly give BSODs on Windows XP. Can't say the same with Intel or NVidia, nothing will convince me to switch lol. *Shrug*
Same, I've tried AMD and have had terrible experiences with them, it'll take a lot to me make me switch.

At 7:19 in the video, all I could think was "Hey guys, it Austin."
Might look into making a build list with the 65W Ryzen chip at some point.

Overclockers uk (big uk retailer) have them & am4 motherboards up for pre-order now for those in the UK looking.

1700 is £320, which is slightly cheaper than the 7700K. Price is basically a direct coversion from $330 + vat before anyone starts crying about being "ripped off".

Assuming it lives up to it's billing when proper independent reviews start coming in, that's good. My 5820k was £290, £30 more for 2 extra cores and that's after the £ was thrown off a cliff compared to when I bought.
Had switched from Nvidia back at the 9800pro. First one was nicely performing, and even gained at reference speeds by flashing to a modded 9800xt BIOS. It was a built by ATI card. Recurring problem was any opengl game did poorly on it. Kotor wouldn't run at all for the best part of a year because of bugs that ATI wouldn't acknowledge for six months, finally resolve 11 months later, only to immediately break again in the next monthly driver. Then, doom 3 launched and utterly killed it dead. Nothing could save it. The RMA replacements all had different ram from the original, and none were stable. Even when they were, they performed worse in half life 2 inexcusably. Total of six RMA done before having been upgraded (maybe out of pity) to an x1600 agp, which did perform way better... Then died just days after the refurbished warranty expired.

A bit later, was fixing up systems for side money and tried again with a 3650 in agp. That thing was a nightmare. Even in the system I sent it off in, it would periodically crash even on desktop. Standard driver install never install, insisting the card didn't exist. Even if I got it working, the catalyst control center left it constantly gimped in performance.

Fast forward much, much more recently, when my GTX 285 with lifetime warranty started to finally die. Got an RMA replacement in the form of a 7770. And it promptly refused to have any display at all, not even on BIOS. Meanwhile, the GTX 960 I then bought while in that rigamarole installed, displayed, and ran perfectly. And all because it refused to let me use both dvi outputs on the card, when my arrangement with the old main system needed it.
