Voted Radiant Dawn because it's the only one I played (about 1/3rd through), but wasn't really a fan of it...

(OK, I tried the very first one too, but just because I was practicing at VC injections)

I've played Radiant Dawn to completion, it was really good visually for a fire emblem game but other than that I didn't like it either. I don't understand how other people can say it's so good.

I've played the Fates SE with all three paths but I liked Revelation the most. I started to play Awakening although I'm not really finding it interesting.

I always heard the gamecube was the version to start on, why would you recommend this over the gamecube one? You don't have to justify I would just like to know why.
I liked the big maps and the op holy weapons are really fun to play with. It's different from a lot of the other titles and I just find it really fun. Path of Radiance (the one for gamecube) is a phenomenal game too. It's my second favorite fire emblem

I will give it a go, thank you!

Good luck, it's kind of hard to get into though and will be hard for a beginner. It's also Japanese exclusive but if you know how to patch roms it should be easy.
Here's a guide to help you out: https://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem...omers_companion_to_fe4_genealogy_of_the_holy/
Here's a link to the best translation patch: http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=21199.0

If Genealogy of the Holy War isn't your taste you can also try Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. It's much easier to get into for beginners and isn't Japan exclusive.

Oh gosh, such a tough question!

Genealogy of the Holy War is definitely up there. Super cool maps, nice twist with the story, just a general feel of a huge "epic" story. But Blazing Sword, or just "Fire Emblem" is a really solid game too. Awakening has its faults, but also adds in a bunch of well needed features to the series. Such a tough choice. I think Blazing Sword wins by just a tad, just because who doesn't love Hector?

On the other end of the scale, Shadow Dragon and Fates are probably my most disliked in the series. SD because the maps are absolutely boring and some of the gameplay changes are baffling. Fates because of the terrible writing and bland characters.

While I liked awakening and fates, they're so braindead easy it hurts. Playing through first time on lunatic is a simple task. Especially in Fates with monsters like Hana and Ryoma who I basically just singlehandedly solo'd/duo'd lunatic with. 100% hit rate 100% dodge rate yes plz?

Definitely my favorite was New Mystery of the Emblem.
I'm not a Marth fanboy...at all. Actually I dislike his character immensely...but it was a super fun game. Pretty challenging maps that drove me fucking crazy sometimes, but I loved my beast Palla.
I actually need to go back and play it. I accidentally missed out on getting a unit on one of the first maps cuz it was my first real FE and she ended up counting as ded for the ending. So sad cuz I went through on...maniac? I think.
