Hacking So i have A "NEW" 3DS XL - Can i Mod it - 11.3.0-36 - Just Wanna Play Back Ups

okay so ill Prob Catch Hell cuz this has probably been asked 1k times, but ive looked and every time ive googled it, it always gives me regular 3ds mods and stuff and i dont know it those will work.

I have modded The PS2, PS3, And the Wii. and started on the PSP but i need to wait for a part im to lazy to get to see if my screen is.... never mind it doesnt matter

anyway, from what i can tell, i think a flash card would be the best thing for me, but im almost HIV positive that you cant use it with out anything being done to my system first, although ive been wrong before,

Basically what i want to do is be able to play my Backups, 3ds & DS. for pretty much everything else i have a computer and my modded wii

so if you all can point me in the right direction, without giving me TOO much crap that would be great, by telling me what i need or if it just isnt possible with what im working with

No possible way to get to installing games from 11.3 without having hardmod and pre 11.3 nand backup

Sky3DS+ is your only option on stock//vanilla 11.3.

Otherwise, sell the system and get one that's on 11.2 and below and follow this: https://3ds.guide/

Sky3DS+ can only do retail 3DS games. So no eShop-only or DSiWare games.

You'll need a DS Flashcart for DS Games.

You could get an expensive Sky3DS flashcard for 3DS games, or a cheap R4 for NDS games, both of which work on 11.3.
You cannot mod the system on 11.3 though.

i guess i could sell mine, but before i do, is there a way to play backups on something other than the flashcart so like if i was to put in a reg Sd card with ROMs or something

Well, Gateway is broken and I'm sure if you've lurked enough you've seen the "Soon:tm:" meme.
That basically means Gateway is out of the question for like a year.
Sky3DS+ is another option, and I'm pretty sure you don't need to install anything on your system for it to work.
For playing online WITH the roms you download however, you need to get things called "private headers"
You can't replicate these
I don't know how they work but I know they exist
You might get banned if you use a public header, but idk

And for DS, R4s are like 15 bucks so it's not too expensive
But yeah that's the only option on 11.3 (that I know of)

But good/functional R4s are much more expensive, I think.

I bought a R4i3d recently and it didn't work on 11.2.

People recommend a lot the DSTWO, but its about 60 USD.

Personally, I would return the system or exchange/sell it and then buy one on 11.2. Sky3DS+ is in my own opinion, way too expensive in addition to a console exchange. Honestly, I would rather sell my N3DS to Gamestop and get $100 towards a new one paying the difference before I'd pay for Sky3DS+. Yeah I'd pay about the same, but you have more in the longrun with CFW.

Use the sky3ds plus flashcart. It won't give you anything fancy like virtual console injects or homebrew, and is a little pricey, but it gets the job done.

or you could weigh your options..

sky3ds+ flashcarts are pricey and would cost $100+ depending on where in the planet you live. if you are just gonna end up playing 2-3 3DS titles seriously, try searching for preowned copies of those games. Normally a Monster Hunter game could go as low as 28AUD on local game shops (preowned), and a copy of Pokemon ($48/$38 preowned), so it still comes out cheaper compared to a sky3DS+ and you dont have to worry on goin' online, plus you get to own the cartridge and keep it one day as part of your collection..

Someday it (the games you purchased) will be rare and expensive to get one even online..And you will also be motivated to play and finish the games..

2nd option would be to sell your console, and instead get a preowned one. Goodluck finding one on a lower firmware, with reasonable price and excellent condition. Just look at your current console you wouldnt want to swap it with a device that might have non functioning buttons/keys in less than a year just because you were after CFW to play backups.. think of it this way, it breaks sooner and you will have to spend money again out of the pocket. Unless you are filthy rich then that's no issue for you but then why not purchase the games.

Finally, the last option is to wait... sooner or later, 11.3 will be downgradeable and you dont have to worry everything above that i mentioned.
