first of all thanks to everyone involved with hakchi.

I tried 2.11 version and it worked on my old computer with VISTA!!

Hakchi 2.12 doesn't work (waiting for device and doesn't flash anything) , i guess i'll have to buy a new computer? :(

Aaaargh, this is getting so confusing for people like me who are new to this stuff, this thread moves far too quickly.

I'd been using @pcm720 original release which removed bilinear filtering but due to issues with Yoshi's Island I also wanted to install catsfc as that doesn't have the same issues as running snes9x but I can't anything to work apart from the the origin release.

As a few people are releasing their own versions now, does anybody have one that is a single install but includes all the hmod files, has catsfc installed and also removes bilinear filtering?

Well, as long as your PC's minimum requirements are compatible with Windows 7, you don't need to afford a new one.

Hi guy ! How to do ? Video? Thanks.
Dont know how to use other emulators then whats in the mini. I saw a picture in here where someone could change between RA och default... but i cant find that.

First, make sur retroarch module is on.
The easy way to run Asterix is to open hmod (as a folder, or a zip file) -> bin ->"nes" file, and change "core=fceumm" to "core=nestopia" (save the file). After that, add " --retroarch" to Asterix's command line.

Hi, is there a way to global set aspect ratio to 16:9 for RA ? I would like to have 16:9 as default and if I want to change it, I could go into RA settings.

Looking at the accuracy tests by tasvideos I think it's better if nestopia would be the default:

http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/NESAccuracyTests.html

Are there any retroarch cores for punes or bizhawk?

Edit: hmm bizhawk only has windows variants available.

So, are you sure that Nestopia is better than FCEUmm. If so, I might move FCEUmm to its own module and use Nestopia as default

And for people that are looking for better snes emulation (Yoshi's Island) try some of the bsnes cores. I don't think the accuracy ones will work btw.

bsnes won't work. Any variation including bsnes_mercury will crash with segmentation fault. Madmonkey managed to compile working accuracy core, but it was so slow it wasn't worth adding

The core is in WIP the creator is modding some buttons config for classic controller to make playable some greats games of CPC.... Fernando Martin will be playing again on Mini.

Has anyone built a retroarch hmod with just the nestopia core included or can someone please give me a run down on how to do it please. Not interested in running any other console games. I'd get a raspberry pi for that :)

Most games are being emulated better by nestopia as far as I know and other sources are saying. Sure, there are some exceptions that run a little bit better on FCEUmm, but most of them don't. Besides that nestopia stil emulates nes audio better.

Yeah, I thought so with the bsnes cores. It's a real shame the Nes Classic isn't more powerful. Especially the bsnes accuracy is amazing when running on hardware that can handle it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Tried the bnes cores. No luck.

Ok. As PCM720 was mentioning they probably aren't suited for the NES Classic. Even the performance one.

Did you try catsfc? Why isn't it called snes9x2005 btw? That's confusing. Or is it still using the older commits?
