I have followed this guide and have CFW working on my O3DS XL, I have successfully gotten CIA files to install and nothing else is going wrong.
I tried to boot onto Decrypt9 via fasthax and safehax as the guide says in this part of it (I have finished getting CFW, I was just referencing how to boot onto D9 via this part of the guide) and fasthax told me

" [-] Unsupported kernal version.
[-] k11_exploit failed!
waiting for user... press <start> to continue "

I still wondered if safehax would boot up D9 and it just told me the
"PM INIT FAILED!"
Okay, so I remembered that the D9 zip had a folder with the 3DSX and SMDH files in it, so I dragged it to the 3DS file on my SD card and D9 it showed up on my homebrew, only to turn the screen black for 3 seconds before returning to homebrew menu.
I am unfamiliar with most other programs beyond homebrew (Tubehax, Ironhax, wtf too many hax and I have no patience for hex editing.) I'm basically shit at most of this hacking stuff and need detailed guides telling me what to do.
All I need to do is boot onto Decrypt9 please help me I'm a lost soul.

If you upgraded to 11.3 after installing A9LH then you won't have any luck using Safehax. You'll have to chainload D9 as a Luma payload. Make sure you have a folder on your SD card in the Luma directory named "payloads", and place the D9 binary there named something like "start_d9.bin". Then all you'll have to do is hold start on boot to load up D9. Also, if all you're needing is basic NAND management (dumping and restoring) then I highly recommend Hourglass9 over D9.

part of me enjoys the fact that 11.3 patched everything, so instead of a long explanation about dsiware downgrades and hardmodding that i used to have to do, i can just say noooooooooope. Just wanted to put that out there.

Thank you ^-^ Didn't want to mess around with files in any of those payload or file9 folders without knowing what I was doing

Just a tip: You really don't need to touch files9. This is the working directory for Decrypt9 and Hourglass9. Various types of dumps (NAND, AGB saves, etc.) are stored here as well as the AES key database. ARM9 payloads exclusively go in Luma's payload directory, and should be the only one you add files to in this regard.
