Many games that you can not run on finalburn you can run on this mame, and some run better like the ones who use samples. I remember I posted scans from my arcade game folders in a topic, but i don't remember what topic is :P

Using the retroarch 1.0.0.2 cores here. Is MAMEWii still needed? Any games MAMEWii runs that the Retroarch cores doesn´t?

A compatibility list for the MAME core would great, at the moment I am not sure if the games I could run on it are ones I would be interested in playing, mainly, arcade games from around the 16bit era.

MAME 2003 uses the MAME 0.78 romset.
I know which romset works with mame2003, i just need to know - Can MAME2003 work with FBA romset? These romsets is absolutery different? HDD is limited, and MAME2003 takes another 10 GB place

No, dont work. And this is not like the pc version, some games dont will run in FB and other dont will run on mame. You have first to test the games you like to run. Normally mame is better with games from 1980's decade and FB is better with 1990's.

Hi guys,

Iost my Wii SD card!
I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to post their working ra folder incl. working extra cores.
I really would like neogeo pocket and pc engine cd to work in RA as I would like Mame and FBA.
I also would like a buid that can use overlays for scan lines
I am confused what I need right now as anonfiles dns in unreachable for me.
The official build in broken for the Neogeopocket.
A working build on RA 1.0.0.2 would be nice.

I would be very thankfull!

Maybe one of you can help me with this: When I tried to load the unofficial Mame 078 core, both @Wiimpathy and @zerofalcon versions, I'm getting a DSI exception. The strange part is a few months ago these cores was running ok on my wii. The main reason that I want these cores are The Konami and Data east Games:

Sorry if this is a silly question, but is there a way to clean or delete de control inputs for Retroarch related stuff without having to remove the SD and put it in my PC and mess with the cfg files??

I Mean things like "Fast Forward hold" or "Reset" functions.

I'm trying Nakata6790 pack and some C-Stick configurations are kinda annoying for me as I was used to my own.

EDIT

Okay, I just figured it out: Pressing Start erases the chosen selection on the input menu. What a relief!

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse by asking this... But is there any hope of porting a core that supports 32X?

It'll be a hard task due to how picodrive is coded, last time I checked the source code an endianness was the problem. As mentioned, in the nes mini runs fine because of the hardware (quad-core ARM Cortex-A7) and platform (linux).

A very little hope because it is running on Nes mini, but we dont have any programmer to do it on Wii

It's a shame too because with the db9 raphnet adapter the wii plays sega sg1000, master system, game gear, genesis, and sega cd games not to mention the atari 2600 and 7800 all using the real controllers... and it works SOOO well. All without the need for the add ons and the three power bricks all fighting for space on one power strip. The wii also has the built in support for the light gun games using wii motes, which is why it's so hard for me to move on from it.

As far as that era goes, the 32X is the one of the only sizable omissions. Yeah it's not popular and there's only like 45 games... but it'd just be nice to retire that old xbox emulator, or to not have to use a raspberry pi or similar solution.

I'm new to retroarch, and downloading the files. is it normal the cfg files all point to incorrect dol's in the 1.0.0.2 package I just downloaded
really just want to get this setup for all the arcade games mame 1.0 cannot run. cps2 etc. any sega games would be great like rally.

I found this. which brought me here.
OK so after more digging through posts I found that some unofficial MAME builds were built and shared out:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/retroarch-unofficial-extra-cores.405410/page-3#post-5874339
So I just dropped the MAME 2000 / 0.37b5 core into the matching 1.3.3 official release and works great.
This gives great stability across both FBA and MAME.... think I'll be sticking with this for some time :)
Haven't had much luck getting the MAME 2003/0.78 working.

any help is appreciated!
