See, that's what I thought. But apparently that's just a "fanboy definition". because reasons?
Nope! Your definition was "it's a handheld with closer to console power, or it's a console that can be used as a handheld" which is not a hybrid. A hybrid is literally a portable, with an HDMI port of some sort. Imagine the Game Boy Color, but with a video-out cable. That's not a "console that can be used as a handheld."

Well, I would argue that there's a bit of range for the definition. Anywhere a home console and a handheld overlap in function and form could equate to a hybrid. I aimed for center of the overlap, you seemed to work from handheld and the first thing added that caused any overlap would be considered a "hybrid".

That's accurate as well, just a different perspective. though I'm hoping you're not saying that the switch is not a handheld as a function.

Gotta say, i might be buying a switch for Xenoblade 2 alone.
An interesting point, because I might be doing the same. I was just enjoying my peace of downtime. I just finished Xenoblade 1 in December and just a few days later they announce Xenoblade 2 D: I have barely had time to touch Chronicles X!
The original Xenoblade, while still in 480p was quite impressive on the Wii.

I'm playing back through 1 on the Wii U with the gamepad, and i have to say that X really dissapointed me. The game is fine, but it's nothing like Xenoblade 1. It feels like they made a random RPG and then decided to slap Xenoblade on it at the last second.

Except it wasn't at the last second and a lot of the game is similar to Xenoblade (like the battle system). :|

Thats kinda how I feel too. The mechanics are kinda the same but other than that... the fantasy sci fi is gone and everything feels so serious.

Im liking the part that put my friend off his preorder.

People who have had it hands on are saying it runs better in tablet mode than in tv mode lul
