While this is something I don't normally do, is just a idea i came up with. Since we know that nintendo recent systems had the focus on 2 screen support, since NDS, the use of 2 screens is kinda common. I may have pointed out in some other post that even though Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild will be on wii u and Switch, the wii u still has a somewhat advantage of owning it being the second screen game pad feature the wii u is based on, maybe perhaps making it a decent feature over switch.

Well what if nintendo switch app that is supposed to be part of is usage for online social communications that was mentioned, what if that is also somehow maybe a second screen feature like wii u game pad but just part of the app on your smartphone? You know like the playstation app, or remote play on playstation systems, even some actual games itself had smartphone apps that link with the games you play, like the watch dogs, battle field or even the Beyond two souls?

Is just a idea i had, it could be possibe, so if you tell me i'm wrong, is not a fact i am stating, just a possibility. I usually don't like speculation threads but i just wondered if anyone thouht about this or just me. I would maybe be interested in this if done well.

You know what.
Now that you talk about the ps4. I do have the app and it works great. I get a message and vs stopping my game and messaging them back and i pull out my phone and reply right there.
Also see who is online and setup groups and work not.

Now if nintendo app is like that that would be pretty good for them.
I do no like the fact that you have to use it for voice chat tho.

Now on to the second screen part. I doubt it will work as your saying. Thats was MS glass was suppose to be but there app and setup was crap IMO.

What i would like to see nintendo do with there app. Is the same as the ps4 and be able to connect and see what game your playing and able to load a game guide for it.
For zelda it would be nice to have a map load so you dont have to keep switching to see your map.
Things like that would be cool, but only time will tell.
I dont want them putting to much into the mobile app they like to kill stuff by over doing it.

Doesn't that one Assassin's Creed game have such a feature? Where you do something with your Smartphone? Assassins Creed Black Flag Companion App or something? I totally think that would be a cool idea!

Everyone's been kinda shi**g on the Wii U gamepad, but I always liked it. In Wind Waker especially!

what do you mean by actual games? What would be a non-actual game?

Ya know, I could see an adapter for the Joycons where you could snap your smartphone in the middle of the two so you can still use the Joycons to control and then your phone's touch screen when necessary. I mean really the second screen is most useful in console games for me for quick inventory management and displaying things like the map, that actually does sound feasible for a smartphone to do when connected to the system.

Well is just that most games on wii u lacked the requirement of the gamepad, but i was excited to see that gamepad, maybe a bit big but still, makes for good local multiplayer. Especially if you don't like making the cross section of your screen like boxes (Remember mario kart on n64 and diddy kong racing? f zero? Sonic riders?) Basically while sonic all star transform has 4 player locally on all other consoles, on wii u is 5 players. :P

So i always hoped that multiple gamepad support would be real to do something like that, maybe even no tv at all games :D

Yes that kinda of thing i was thinking too. I noticed a lot of people were discussing the switch itself, but no one mentioned about the app, so i just wanted to get some discussions going on about it since it came to me that it may be possible that the app could be a sort of app like the other consoles. The gudie thing is okay, the map function i would like too. The constant problem with rpg and adventure games is loading times to open a map or just having it prepared at all times, which is why 3DS rpg games are good, cause of the dual screens. :)

So if some games are able to use the app for things like making stuff easier to navigate, then i hope is done right. It seem like maybe nintendo was trying to emulate the playstation remote play functions a bit which i hope they could try to do well. :P

Suddenly, the Switch future is getting brighter. It rises and falls with Nintendo though... That's the thing

Man you remember the N64 and iron boots and how you have to menu scroll and turn them on and off.
The game pad help with stuff like that. easy to see screen and had all the menu items there.
What i dislike is the games where all dont the same. Some had off TV play, other where tv only.
Then things like mario party was messed up. One person would have to use the game pad while the other wii mote. Same for pokken, It was just a headache for multiplayer.

The gamepad had way too much focus on it, and some games it kill while others was pretty cool.

Still i think the switch should least have a possible chromecast like feature, to least make use of the tv screen somehow, not just by sticking it into the dock. Once is in the dock, tv mode is active and you can't use the tablet, so you still stuck with one screen. Unlike some wii u games that use both screen so it won't matter which you look at (or option to switch) there is hardly a option besides "Dock to tv mode or remove to tablet mode"

No need to use it as a tablet.
Thats the thing, the wii u didnt do well for alot of different reasons and if nintendo trys to bring back the gamepad idea there going to mess up.
Its best to leave it as they have it. A portable that docks for tv play. Adding all this is just reaching out to the wii u and it would make alot of people think its just another wii u.
That what had the wii u dying from the start they kept the Wii name and controllers and everyone thought it was just a wii with a different controller.
I cant even count how many times ive been at the store and people thought that. My girl was even at the store (toyrus i believe) and the cashier told a lady that the wii and wii u were the same and to get the wii since its cheaper.
She had to step in and correct the cashier.

The switch has an all new name, design, controllers etc... No need to take a step backwards and try to grab at the wii u. Plus we have had ps4 and xbox life on without the need for another screen.

The problem with the wii u game pad is the lack of support it had. It made rather poor choices in how is used in conjunction with some games. When i first played new super mario u, i was glad to know you can play with the game pad off screen, but then you have multiplayer mode, you have to use wii mote, and the game pad is for like those magic gloves and platform things to influence elements and enemies as well as help the players so is "FIVE PLAYERS" But you can't play multiplayer, with gamepad using a character. I mean like use mario on game pad and luigi on tv.

Then it just got stranged how donkey kong tropical freeze had only one screen support, the second screen is literally blacked out with no use at all. Sonic sega racing transformed least had a map and player ranking on the screen and option to change to gamepad, and even not 2 player split screen. The not split screen was my favorite thing, and hoped it was like that on lots of multiplayer games but just got bad with the poor choices of how they operate.
