Hi guys,

I have the 4 Layton games on Nintendo DS and realized a few days ago that I didn't have the extra weekly puzzles which were available only downloading via Wifi.
So I tried to download these puzzles, but realized it was no more possible because since May 20th 2014, it is no longer possible to download additional free content for Nintendo DS/DSi software.

So I had a look and found it was possible to access to these additional weekly puzzles using Action Replay code and usrcheat.dat file. Using them with my DSTwo linker, it worked but there are troubles:
After activation of the cheats, you can't save anymore in the game or else, list of enigms is corrupted
And when cheat is activated, it is a mess: the enigms are not in correct order, or they don't have names, etc...
I found on the internet 4 .sav files containing these additional puzzles for the 4 games... but they are US ones, and as I am French, I have the French roms of these games and they are not compatible :-(

My question is simple: is there a French guy which have the .sav files containing all weekly puzzles because he had the good idea to download the puzzles when they were available+save them ?

I would need the .sav of the following gameid:
A5FP: Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Europe)
YLTF: Professeur Layton et la Boite de Pandore (France)
C3JF: Professeur Layton et le Destin Perdu (France)
BLFF: Professeur Layton et l'Appel du Spectre (France)

Try connecting to the alternate WFC server, you should be able to unlock the puzzles through it. Instructions here:

So, in downloading the Picross and Picross 3D saves, how would I use them with an R4i Gold? Is there a way to have these saves unlock the puzzles in my main save? And are all the puzzles unlocked or will I have to load a per-save basis to play each pack?

You can't use the saves to unlock the puzzles in your main save file, I don't think, unless you had knowledge of save editing and knew how to open up the save files to transfer data, and fix up whatever checksums there could be so that the game accepts the save.

Better off just using separate save files, in my opinion.

Have to load each save separately to have access to the puzzles unlocked in that save file.

I downloaded the save in this thread for 100 Classic Books. How would I copy the save onto the game cartridge? I have a 3DS and the physical game cartridge. Thank you for your time and help! Sincerely, Matthew of historyandheadlines.com

Tried sticking the Layton saves on my DStwo with the ROMs that match my carts, it didn't recognize them or load them when I booted the ROMs. Am I supposed to do something else?

Also yes they are from the same region. (I don't have the hardware to rip my own carts so I had a bit of trouble finding the ROMs for the US versions of the games. Apparently people prefer the EU versions for some reason. >_>)

If someone were to do that (using the physical carts or otherwise) would they still have to set their router to WEP? Is there some way around that stupid limitation of the DS? I'm not the only person in this house who uses the internet.

A used copy of the U.S. version of 100 Classic Books arrived in the mail this weekend, but it did not have the downloadable books on it. Is there any way that I can copy the save from this thread onto the cartridge? Would NDS Adapter Plus allow me to that? I notice the saves in the original post on this thread are in a .dsv format. Would I need to convert these before putting them on the cartridge? If so, how? A little off topic, but also, is there any way to still get the extra content for Alien Crush Returns on Wii? Thank you so much for your time and help!

I have a Fossil Fighters: Champions .SAV file with the bonus data in it.
It's not complete 100% and I think I used cheats (It's old, used to share the slot with my bro and I just recently picked it up to play again the game). Anyways, it's good If you want to start a new game plus (you can keep the bonus data and remove all the other vivosaurs before starting a new game). Also, I hope I uploaded it right. owo

By the way, I was wondering...
Would it be possible, for this game, to create an Action Replay Code (or look into the game itself) to unlock the bonus data without having to go through all the trouble? A bit like with the pokemon gifts. Some people don't have wifi after all, and It would be more easy that way...

I purchased on Xploder. How would I convert the .dsv file for the US version of 100 Classic Books to be transferable on the Xploder?

.dsv files are Desmume's way of saving games. Basically, download a hex editor (look up a good one online) and remove the final line. It shows you where you remove up to. Then save the edited file as a .sav. Then use http://shunyweb.info/convert.php to convert from .sav raw to the Xploder format.

I deleted the last line in the hex editor and then converted via shunyweb, but when I try adding it via Xploder, it says,
"Corrupted Save file as Gamesave data information was not found in the .gds file". Any ideas? Is anyone able to perhaps upload a properly converted Xploder file that has the 10 DLC books unlocked for the US version? Thanks and please forgive my ignorance/inability in successfully figuring out how to do this myself.

Oh man, now I feel bad about never doing those wi-fi Pokemon Rangers: Shadows of Almia missions. I hope this works out okay. It would be a huge loss to video gaming if all of this content disappeared.

So, since there are already several custom servers (i.e. Wiimmfi, altwfc, etc.), is this thread still needed for save files. Since we can now download the DLCs with the custom servers...

Is there a list of games which needs to be played to a certain point in order to receive the downloadable content?
