Im just starting to get into this, I see nobody ever recommends flashing the dvd drive, and opt to go straight to rgh etc, how come, isnt it much more convenient?

my scenario, I've obtained a bunch of region free games however some of them are labelled jtag/rgh in the header, im assuming those ONLY work on hardware modded consoles(why is this?)

so for my situation dvd flashed systems are a no go? the game files have a collection of xex and bins / res folders.

thanks for the input, im going to do some more reading in the mean time.

so can I just convert the game files to iso then good to go? If so which software would you recommend doing so.

No.

You can't convert back. Data a flashed drive needs but RGH/JTAG does not, is lost when extracting the files. While it may techincally be possible to rebuild an iso and then add back stuff like the security sector, I'm pretty sure no one has bothered, so there is nothing that can do it.

Either RGHing your 360 and use the backups or flash the drive and pirate them as ISO images.

Those are your only two options.
Other then legitimately purchasing them.
