Breath of the Wild to have Alternate Endings

In a recent interview with IGN Portugal, Eiji Anouma revealed an interesting feature of the upcoming Zelda title; the game will have an alternate ending.

"There is an alternate ending if you meet certain criteria. If you do a few things, you may see a different ending," Aonuma revealed to IGN Portugal.

The article also points to their upcoming full interview with Mr Anouma where he confirms, among other features, the presence of Link's legendary companion Epona and introduces the golf-style mini-game that uses an item called Stasis Rune.

Breath of the Wild seems to be a very ambitious title after each and every little detail reveal! I bet a lot of you are hoping that it lives up to the expectation!

All I see here is an incredibly simple quote. He didn't even try to go in depth on it, because he recognizes that it's not major.

There is an alternate ending if you meet certain criteria. If you do a few things, you may see a different ending - full stop.

The Game would have to be highly segmented for that which would contradict all "open world" intentions Nintendo is aiming for with Breath of the Wild.
Besides ... the Shadow game was faction based decision making (good, bad, ego) and I don't see Link team up with Ganondorf (outside of SSB) any time soon :unsure:
Based on the Quote it's a unlock via "sidequest(s)" kind of thing more than a decision based story split.
