Unfortunately, it seems the 3DS doesn't like 32bit PNGs, so it actually compresses images down to an 8bit, 256 color pallet. Because of this gradients and glow effects become victim to what's called banding and jagged aliasing. As the artist this bothers me, but if Robz8 is fine with it then I'm not going to worry about it. I might tinker with some more ideas later if there are enough complaints, though. Also, it looks fine inside the application itself. I dunno why the home menu itself compresses it that badly, but whatever.
Edit: I sent him a version specifically for the home menu with the glossy effect and text glow removed. It should look better.
