is it easy to transfer stuffs to a new HDD if I ever decided to upgrade my HDD?
You have to do it on the Wii U. When you connect another drive to the front of the wiiu it will prompt you to go to data management to transfer games over. Warning though this took me 9 hours yesterday doing it.

yea wii u allows up to 2 usb hdds to be used so you can move games between them

Just be aware that it will take several hours to do the transfer to a new usb drive. I would recommend anyone new to this to start with the biggest drive they can get instead of upgrading later.

yes, connect a second USB to the console, and use the console to do the transfer. It can take hours.

Data management, you can transfer data in between 2 storage devices in case you need to INCREASE your external storage device size

I did it just a few days ago with no problems. Just be prepared for it to take 10+hours, possibly MUCH longer depending on the amount of games installed.

yes you can.
plug both USB and go to data management in the WiiU settings. select game copy USB to USB.
(And those are just the ones I saw by searching for the word Transfer and checking the box that says Search this thread only.)

Does someone have experience with the Sandisk Ultra Fit 128GB USB stick on Wii U? People are saying on amazon that it gets pretty hot.
I have had that drive (SDCZ43-128G-G46) for more than a year. I've been using it as a WiiU drive probably since October and I haven't noticed any heat issue that I'd be concerned about. I don't consider myself a heavy gamer, but in addition to playing games, I've done a lot of installs to and from that drive while helping people with their install problems. I'd think that would put a decent amount of stress on the drive, and if the heat caused problems, I'd have seen it by now. Of course, heat can reduce a device's lifetime, but there's nothing on there I actually care about.

Ok I have fixed my port 80 issue, there was a program using it I closed in services

I currently however cannot get my Internet working and cannot use Loadiine/Homebrew Launcher even after doing the Illuminati hax exploit with "kexploit10,31"
Can anyone give me any tips, I'm still getting Internet Issues when trying, I am using the latest version of homebrew launcher 1.4 and have tried "loadiine.ovh" but website won't work
I've also tried changing DNS settings also, only the IOSU illuminati H4X works atm

Hi, I'm getting the error that claims I have to unplug and replug the HDD in WUP Installer, but I was installing games just fine the night before. The only difference is that I did vWii modding after I made sure I could install a game to the HDD.

Would it be possible to redownload the games on the eshop that i've installed trough this method? Or is that not possible? And will creating a Nintendo Network ID on the console remove the installed games?

This doesn't change what your NNID owns and what it doesn't own. eShop will only let you download those games that your NNID acquired through codes or purchases. That said, you can download/reinstall your owned purchases even if you had previously installed them with WUPInstaller.

Neither linking a NNID nor deleting an ID that has a NNID linked to it will remove the installed games, although I don't know if that will hold true if you ask them to transfer the ID to another console.

Can someone please explain the tik files and what to do with them? Ive not aquired any back ups as of yet but I'm going to use wiiu helper. Just want to make sure I do the right thing and don't screw things up. Ive opened up wiiu helper and have linked up the first ticket ID file website on Google. Any help and advice with this one will be very much appreciated

If you download with WiiU USB Helper, and you use that program to copy to your SD, the tickets will be put in the folder with the installation files by the utility. That's usually what you want. Don't worry about messing it up. Even if the tik is missing, you'll just get an error. You haven't done any harm to your wiiu.

I've followed the Haxchi tutorial, does that look ok? I don't have the Homebrew channel on my Wii system menu. Can I put the homebrew channel on my system menu, if so, how?

however, I dont have a hombrew channel on my wiiu system menu.
That's normal.
You didn't install a homebrew channel, you installed CBHC (Cold Boot HaxChi).
CBHC is the channel with the icon ":!: do not touch me".

If you want to boot the homebrew launcher (not channel !) from CBHC, you need to put the homebrew launcher file on your SD card.
or you can also install the homebrew launcher as a channel, but it's three different things : CBHC alone, CBHC + homebrew launcher on SD card, or CBHC + homebrew launcher as channel

Can I put the homebrew channel on my system menu, if so, how?
Go to the homebrew launcher thread and look at the first post, there is a guide to install the homebrew launcher as a channel.

It's cool Cyan (loved that character), as long as I know it's installed and I can play back ups then I'm happy. I've downloaded wiiu helper which I will properly get to grips with tomorrow.

move or install?
move : if you already have games installed on your console, plug a USB HDD, format it to WiiU format, then go to settings>Data management>move/copy game to USB.

install : Start moving/copying the data (savegame and DLC) to USB, then follow the game install tutorial and choose install to USB.

It says exactly what the problem is... Your USB powered drive does not get enough power.

Use an USB drive with an external power plug instead. This info is found everywhere in the guides pretty much too btw...

thought as much tbh, it formatted on my wiiu ok, then after a minute or two, my wiiu switched off automatically. I dont own a powered external hdd, Ill try a y cable first, if that doesnt work then i'll have to splash out on a powered external hdd enclosure. dying to get started on trying back ups too
