It's been happening for an extremely long time actually, It's common practice for Microsoft and Sony for example. In any case it's stated in their TOS that they can and will do this at their discretion and you should probably assume every single game company has it in their TOS as well, so don't get banned?

True, but I guess to them, it's a punishment not to be able to purchase their games, because they are such original and high quality works /s. Honestly, this happened so late in the lifecycle that all we can't buy is Wii U ports, but it does mean guilt free piracy for others, as they are now given no choice.
Yeah there is nothing fun to play right now all that is left is boring wiiu ports the only thing keeping me entertained is ffXV. Why cant march come quicker
For the Eshop unban, my Secure Info A has 3 letters in the beginning, (ABC12345678, as an example) Should I change the third letter? or will that cause me to brick?

Well, there was one thing that I coudn't do while I had my eShop ban: I coudn't update my games. Maybe a part of the reason for the eShop ban was so that games coudn't be updated and we coudn't play even local with friends? I mean sure, updating per freeshop worked fine, but there isn't anything Nintendo could do aganist that.
Yeah the ban went to over the top harsh. They wouldn't even transfer my nnid from my banned console to my a brand new new3dsxl I brought.
That wont work I did that and they refused and told me if they did the ban will transfer.
That makes absolutely no sense considering that the NNID itself isn't banned. All that was banned was the LFCS and the device ID. NNIDs are tied to the device ID, but they can obviously be transferred to a new one. Not to mention that everyone that uses the same NNID on their Wii U still has full functionality.
Well I tried they even took me to the supervisor heres my story quoted from a comment a few pages back in this thread "That wss basically what I was like a kid who tried to buy every nintendo system and game and wanted to play moon early and played online so after I got banned I decided to get a new3dsxl because my old3dsxl was 5 years old so my parents brought me one for christmas and I tried to install a9lh but crapped up on the systrensfer so sudoku didnt transfer so i decided to tell them i lost the banned 3ds and ask for my nnid back to get 4swords so i waited 20min in a phone line to a swag dude who gave no crap i was banned but he then transferd me to the supervisor after being with him for a hour. The women then told me my nnid was dead forever. My parents were listing and then forced me to give them the phone . I was then very upset becuase all the games I paid for were gone.My parents then went into rage mode and began asking when the ban woudl be gone and the women said it was perma. Then we told them how I BROUGHT the game and it was a one time mistake. Then my parents plain out accused the women of stealing all my games that I brought from the eshop. Then they stated that they were lossing me as a coustemer a kid who was saving every pennney I got for a switch.My parents even got a thing to email nintendo of japan. I think the women felt extremelly bad and said that she could do nothing and we ended the phone call with a sarvastic merry christmas. I really dont know if I want a switch anymore and now I will have to pirate all the games nintendo stole from me. I guess the little joy I got outbof this was that my parents roasted nintendo." That's my story and yes I brought a switch even though I was mad at them for a week or two but I guess I have freeshop to thank.
Yeah I got hit from the ban due to investigating Mystery Machine early, probably was a dumb mistake but lesson learned for me is just to buy cartridges from then on so I can at least keep my games. Still sucks though because there's nice eShop exclusives I can't get now, but honestly having released exploits I feel like I totally deserved a ban way sooner. Also glad they didn't take things out on my Wii U at all, that would have sucked and completely made my copy of Splatoon useless.
Yeah pretty glad my wiiu didn't get hit and now I have a new 3ds so I can forget about the ban on my old 3ds mostly.
@gamemasteru03, if the Switch is going to be pay to play then I have absolutely no interest in it. Might be time to move to PC gaming. I'm finding that I'm having a good time there, and the only console I play now is my 3DS. Also, I don't want this to turn into a "hurr durr, mustard rice" shitfest. It's only a suggestion, people.
Make sure its in the "files9" folder on the root of your sd and that youre decrypt9 is up to date. Yes your nnid is dead even if you buy a new 3ds like I did.fuck Nintendo!!!! so also I can't transfer my nnid to a new nintendo??

Yeah I think it is ridiculous that you have to pay to play online when you just payed 100's of dollers to get the system. Especially since they are just letting you rent a nes or snes game for a month and the online services are all on your phone so you have to carry around two things. It better be 40$ are below or that would be ridiclous. Well I guess they can do this since the other consoles are doing this but I guess we can all blame xbox for starting this cycle. I guess the plus side is that they cant really ban us because we are paying to play online and if they perma banned us then they will loose a lot of money.
Not really, Sony and MS are banning people for using a CFW, so why shoudn't Nintendo?
