Will it be? Yes.
Does it have to be? Not necessarily, however free, fast and open with safe a distant fourth, perhaps more of a perk if it happens to be the case, seems to be the order of the day so we are back to yes.

People here? The game industry does not seem to care that much, I know some have been involved with some of the shadier side of things before now (if memory serves some of the earliest pay us or face court things were for a rally game). Then again if the game industry does get its act together and matures a bit more like the film or music ones, not a great step from where I sit but as the game industry is loaded with failed film makers and music peeps..., then all bets are off there. My great hope is it is tempered by technology, but seen as we have services that don't allow resale of games, or at least make it nigh on impossible, and even some people genuinely believing used games to be a bad thing I am back to pessimism.

all they have to do is check if youre ticket was issued by youre nnid. or if the titleID for freeshop exists. theyre are many ways to do this other than another 4.3 wii type update that bricks normal consoles.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

then again problem with checking tickets is that titles can be purchased without an nnid so you could have the ticket without an nnid

i mean are they going to check
maybe (but its hard to almost impossible)

but do you think with all those people using the freeshop are gonna get fined
i dont think so

but i think they might re-work how the eshop might work but then again 3ds is almost at the end of life

but for homebrew
nahhhh it shall go on

It is a cat and mouse game between corporate/governments and pirates. Whenever the industry tries to crack down on a piracy medium, people will find ways to stay safe or come up with more secure file sharing methods.

Maybe, but considering in the UK, some isps are just going to start emailing you a polite notice asking you not to, who cares.

"Please don't pirate"....ok

use usenet - problem solved. I've never received an ip letter or email while using it. I've been a part of usenet for about six years too, and my rss feeds download everything they find.

Is this in regards to gaming piracy specifically or piracy in general?

Gaming piracy is barely policed where I'd argue movie piracy has more of a security and risk of getting caught. Seriously, when was the last time you heard of someone's ISP sending a threat about a downloaded game?

Theoretically it will depend on a lot of things such as laws regarding ip rights and also the technology used. Personally though I feel like it would just be best to move to I2P for torrenting but that is another story..

I've been gone a few days due to internet shit, what happened to the OP? He wasn't banned last time I was on.
I was looking through some threads and found this looks like he broke the rules or something. http://prntscr.com/e55zhv Anyway I think they will put more measures in place to stop it in the future but it will not stop all of it.
