Hacking luma3ds won´t install? "Error while loading the payload"

i want to install luma3ds from the hbloancher but it says "an error occured while loading the payload. make sure your launcher is located at: /Luma3ds.dat

i use rxtools and i got ctrbootmanager to autoboot to rxtools and from the ctr menu i also go to the hbloancher. i also have a retail version of cubic ninja with sysnand 9.2

I was having the same error. Even if you don't have A9LH, Luma3DS needs to load the arm9loaderhax.bin file at the root of your SD card.

isn´t armloader that one risky thing? or will nothing crazy happen if this arm9loaderhax.bin is at the root of the sd card?

Just put that file at the SD card (like I said, even if you don't have arm9loaderhax) and see if it works.

3ds.guide follow this to get cfw sysnand. do not skip any steps or you will screw itt up and break your system (aka user error).

There is 4 things you need to know right now.

3DS exploit: This is a way allow to run somethings that normally can't run such as homebrew, etc. Example of 3DS exploit are menuhax, arm9loaderhax, fasthax, etc.
3DS CFW: This is what you want to allow your 3DS to add more function to FW, such as out of region cart load, pirating, ETC. This one need 3DS exploit to be able to run. Example of CFW is Luma3DS. ReiNAND, Corbenik.
SysNAND: This is your System OS that run on the 3DS.
EmuNAND: The clone of your SysNAND that store on SD card. This one is need to allow CFW to run without some exploit such as menuhax getting remove by Nintendo update

The choices you have here are:

Installing Arm9loaderhax (A9LH) Exploit with Luma3DS CFW. Can be done by following this guide: http://3ds.guide/ . This one is the most popular setting and mostly safe from removed by Nintendo.The problem is, this setting require user to hack into 3DS System files. So it has a small risk of brick. But, if you're understand and following every step of the guide I gave you correctly. Even though you bricked, it can still be fix by hardmod.
Keeping menuhax Exploit with Luma3DS CFW. Can be done by following this guide: How to Autoboot EmuNAND on FW 9.0.0-11.2.0 (without A9LH). This one is more safer in installing state. But, drain SD card space for cloning SysNAND into EmuNAND, and has a chance getting remove if you update to next firmware when you accindently boot to SysNAND.

wouldn´t it be easier to delete everything and then get luma? i have a 9.2 3ds and cubic ninja so maybe there is an easier way to get this. i don´t have any savefiles or anything i care about anyway

If that is your wish then you can just boot to SysNAND, change a theme to remove menuhax.
Then you can use both method to install Luma3DS.

woah i think i did it
i only had to download the luma file from the tutorial here and then it showed me some black screen with some text and i think on top it said luma

interesting... now that i open the 2ds it does automatically open emunand, normally with rxtools i can see a pink screen for a second showing that rxtools will open but now it doesnt happen anymore.. does that mean luma3ds is installed now?

i believe i had the correct armloader.bin file this time
ok so on settings it says emu 10.something. i think the emu was not there before wasnt it different for rxtools?

one last question.. i think this is normal with ctrbootmanager but these green blue and red screens on the bottom of the screen before emunand opens- is that anything bad or unusual?
