You know, RXTools is open source. Realistically anyone could continue supporting it.
And you know there was an attempt (by duke) but it pretty much failed because of poor coding (like hardcoded "magic numbers"). But I agree that there's just a lot of CFWs being in stalemate position (besides Luma3DS, Skeith and maybe ReiNAND if Rei is really about to release ReiNAND 5) like SaltFW, Lima3DS, I don't even know if we're going to see Kecleon being developed further. That's really sad because of different ideas just dying out

Someone can fix it. The only thing preventing anyone from working on it is the community being salty.
There have actually been several CFWs made. But the second they hit the forums, they are spammed by Luma3DS fans and brought down in the name of Luma3DS. We would have more CFWs right now if that cult wasn't ruining the scene. And it's not even Luma's or Wright's fault and I am not blaming either her or her project, I am completely blaming the userbase.

But why would anyone? Luma provides everything that 99,9% of users will ever need and more. Why make it more complicated than it needs to be? Of course you could Say, for versatility and so on, but really, basically everyone's needs are sufficed with Luma and there's only a handful of people who like to use alternatives just because they are there. I don't know of any CFW that provides an important feature which Luma does not offer.

Because not everyone wants to use Luma3DS. Luma3DS isn't the only CFW and it doesn't fit the needs/wants of everyone.

Not everyone wants to use Luma3DS. And it's more than a handful, we're just not allowed to enjoy anything else because the Cult of Luma has basically killed everything else. The CFW scene was basically killed by comments like this.
Really? Because Corbenik provides the options that Luma doesn't have or only recently added or does it better. Corbenik provides options for Sun/Moon that can't be removed by Nintendo and has provided a chainloading menu for months, not to mention a better setup menu compared to Luma3DS. Corbenik also provides support for 10 emuNANDs! Now I am not just saying these because I want people to go use Corbenik, but to point out that Luma3DS doesn't provide everything or at most another CFW can do something better than Luma3DS. This idea of "just use Luma" has basically killed the scene and caused more drama than anything else.

Do you guys really try to defend rxtools? Rxtools was a very good cfw but the project is canceled. New stuff isn't implemented. Using rxtools is like using Windows xp: the thing itself is cool but it's heavily outdated.
I am not defending it, I am putting out that it's open source and anyone could continue it if they wanted to

Already is something better it's called Luma3DS
Actually I have an entire list of things that are better

Now I would like to mention, that my posts are not defending nor endorsing RXTools. I am just pointing out the obvious. RXTools is open source, thus if someone really wanted to, they could continue it. This is simply a fact, nothing "fanboyism" or anything stupid. Although, I am hoping some interest could be sparked, the CFW scene really needs more CFWs

Did everyone forget that @Crystal the Glaceon is the person who create a thread to encourage people to stop using rxtools,
Because it's oudate and nobody continue it even it's open source?
It's funny that now I am looking back at that and realized how big a mistake that was. I should have been pushing for someone to continue the project instead pushing to outright end it

Atleast I think that was a good move. Since keep using broken thing is not good at all.

My opinion about CFW: I don't like master race trend in every aspect. Not Just Luma3DS.
It's alway better when people have more choice to pick.
And I don't think we have less CFW cause those Luma3DS master race.
Most people here aren't developer, and most developer may think that the current CFW in the market is enough.
Luma3DS for Noob, SaltFW for people who want less, ReiNAND for people who like µ's, or Corbenik for who want to conquer their 3DS.
And we already have something that can totally replace rxtools, so may be the dev won't see a point to revive it.

But I could have easily suggested ideas to fixing the problem. Like yeah, the tools broken, I can think of a perfectly good idea to fix that. Like adding RXMode to Decrypt9 GUI. I know there was a project attempting to do that, but they didn't very far. But interestingly enough there was a build (or branch) of Decrypt9 with a CFW build into it. I ran into once and I currently looking for again.

Do you mean something like r3tools or something like lima3ds?

I do mean those two. But what seemed to kill them was mostly lack of experience from the creators. There did seem to be some community interest though.
But there is a build of Decrypt9 that I am looking for that had a CFW built into it.

But choosing CFWs/OS will end all the same. in spawns a future top-dog by whatever means and it eats everything alive. aka survival of the fittest (pretty much subjective in this case though.)
