Thought so, appreciate the help anyway, so is there no way to decrypt game saves to use on other 3ds systems then?
NNID doesn't have anything to do with saves unless it's online saves like badge arcade that you have to log in with NNID.
I transfer saves between systems all the time. Depending on games, it'll complain that the save was created in another system. I know Fantasy Life and Tomodachi Life does that when you start, but it works fine. The saves are encrypted to each system, but JKSM removes that automatically so you don't have to worry about it.
Ah I see, so if I export saves for pokemon x, pokemon moon and harvest moon (saves which my gf wants back on to her 2ds) from the new 3ds xl they should just work on the 2ds when I import them on to it and load the games up?
That's been my experience. I've done it with those Pokémon games without issues.
I had a really weird issue where I moved my save from emunand to sysnand on ORAS, and I lost all my pokemon in my PC. Even restored with a save that was used before an editor was implemented.
Are you talking about the free to use PC in Pokémon Centers? I've never had that happen before with save restore.
yea it was weird. the pokemon in my party were fine, though, but i'm not too concerned, since I play sun now, not alpha sapphire.
It really makes no sense unless you restored the wrong file. Not sure if things work differently with homebrew version or not. Maybe you can explain your setup and the steps you did to transfer your save.
might have something to do with a version of PKSM that was out around Dec. 8, since thats when the save was dumped. but I'm not too concerned with it, I would be concerned if I lost my heart gold pokemon.

got a issue with jksm with pokemon moon eu
i was trying to use the replay editor thing so i had to export my extdata however when i tried to export it gives the "title may not use extdata" error
dont know what im doing wrong i have 2replays saved on the sd card but it doesnt work still

This app doesn't seem to work for me. I hit export, the UI looks as though it's exporting (though the progress bar is like 120%, going off the screen), but when I open up the JKSD directory on the SD card it only contains an empty Saves directory. There is nothing in there.
Anyone had experience of this?

Only with games like Fantasy Life where the save is in ExtData and not the regular save.
