Hey LightShell, I just found this thread after desperately trying to upgrade the firmware on my R4i card (even posted a thread here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/why-cant-update-a-r4i-v1-4-card-even-on-an-older-dsi.452689/ ), and after using your Force Updater Project on DS Manager and surprisingly I was able to upgrade the card and it now shows up to be compatible with DSi 1.44 using an old DSi with v1.3, problem is my new DSi is in version 1.4.5E, is there any way I can upgrade it further using DS Manager?

because r4i-sdhc.com cards are dstt clones I have made a custom firmware for it so it might be able to be updated

Hi LightShell thanks for your reply. When I try to run the R4iTTK/LightShell 3D kernel all I get is the "? Menu" image. I noticed the firmware update is a .nds file, can I run this on another kernel?

you can't run that nds file on different kernel, the r4.dat is YSMenu

Yes thats what I did, using the old DSi with firmware 1.3E, I open r4 and it's just gives me the "? MENU" image. I'll try to do it again

Here's the current situation, the R4 card shows up like this on the old DSi (Firmware 1.3E):

This was after I used your DS Manager to patch the flash.r4i file to force it to update, before it showed up as "Star Wars Lethal Alliance"

I can boot official kernels from r4i-sdhc.com website, even the most recent ones. I can also boot your LightShell FUpdater v2.zip file, I tried that but it only updates to 1.44 as shown here:

Again this was after I used your DS Manager to patch the flash.r4i, before it showed "Support Model: NDSL, NDSI 1.40"

I havent tried FUpdate Auto-Patcher 2.1.3.zip yet but I think this is the same thing in the DS Manager right?

yes its same thing in the ds manager

rename the R4.dat from lightshell 3d/r4itt.zip to YSMenu.nds and run YSMenu.nds from official r4i-sdhc.com kernel

It booted a broken file manager, it has errors but it works, i can navigate the folders but no file/folder names appear. It shows 2 files on root, but there should have been 3, r4.dat, YSMenu.nds and "dsi 145 update lightshell.nds" (i left this one there because I figured we were gonna run it)

Ok I copied the YSMenu folder as well, i figured that was the problem as it was saying it couldnt load fonts and such, and its now fully working:

Should I run the dsi 145 update? Do i need to deactivate the DMA / Reset options?

I booted the updater nds file and it loaded, this is what appears:

did you run it from R4iTTk menu?

You must drag EVERYTHING i mean EVERYTHING from the zip file

I ran it from "YSMenu.nds from official r4i-sdhc.com kernel" as you said, I'm not sure it's the same thing. What I did was I booted YSMenu.nds:

And then I ran the "dsi 145 udpate lightshell.nds" file which gave me this:

I saw your edit now. But if I put everything from the zip file I only get the "? MENU" image when i boot it. What I did was:

Copy offical Kernel to SDCard, then I copied a renamed r4.dat to YSMenu.nds from your zip. I only copied that file.

rename r4.dat to firmware.nds and run from r4 menu
then it will run
and you need the 3d.ttk

I'm very confused right now. Do you want me to put the entire "r4ittk - lightshell 3d.zip" file in the SD card, but only use the r4.dat from the Offical (r4i-sdhc.com) kernel?
