Just about to try and mod this, I've read the guide 2-3 times and downloaded the files needed, now I'm going to try it for real, got my 3DS here and I'm going to take it very slowly and very carefully and hope I don't mess it up. here goes!
I think the 3ds is broken.. *sigh*
I'm trying to setup internet access and each time I put my wifi password in, it just sits there.. doesn't finish, just freezes. I guess theres no net on this 3ds. not even an error message
even pressing the home button does nothing. have to hold down the power button.

try restarting your router or connecting to a different network just to rule out that being the issue.
I reset my router and the same, I then turned my security off my router and the 3ds connected and says connection test successful.
however 20 secs later the 3ds froze up on the main menu and I couldn't do anything with it. tried and tried again, went to use the browser and the first time it says 'error, restart system', the 2nd time the browser loaded but 10-15 secs later the 3ds froze up again.
I think I can certainly say this 3ds is broken. I just hope I can get a refund as they only had 1 and I cannot afford to throw away £80.

just for kicks, try connecting to your mobile phone for internet and update? i did before and for some reason it was successful..otherwise it could be a hardware issue..
well he wouldn't want to do an online update as he would then be stuck on 11.2 again, if he had a game with a 9.4-10.7 update on he could try that, but that would also remove his browser I think so he would need a second *hax entrypoint

Very sorry, but it could be a hardware problem. If you can't fix it and can't get a refund, and have no use for it. Please don't waste double the money on ninjhax as you may aswell buy another 3ds. Or get a hardmod, which does cost quite a lot. But if your kind hearted enough just give it away, to some people living in a manacle like me. Pls
