Firstly, hello to all :>

I have just received the R4i SDHC Gold Pro 2016 flash cart (www.r4isdhc.com). I have updated the kernel to the latest official FW - v 3.8b (2016/09/2).

Everything works great so far but I am having issues with Pokemon Black/White and BW2 backups. I am assuming that it is to do with the DSi Enhanced features of these games? Not sure if these cards have a definitive compatibility list also?

I have tried messing with the settings i.e. No DRM/No soft-reset/RTS off and even AP in the cheats. I have tried trimmed and untrimmed ROMs and also formatting the card. The save files also seem to be the correct size and I have tried using my old saves and allowing the card to create new ones to no avail.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get these games working? I have noticed people mentioning YSMenu etc. but I am unsure if using this would help me with this issue?

Thanks in advance :>

Ariel

EDIT: Fix for anyone else who was having this issue:

I contacted 'nds-card.com' (website that I ordered from) and they sent me a link to an older kernel as per email below.

'This is correct firmware.

Unzip into sd card boot to try again.

nds-card.com

R4isdhc GOLD Pro 2014.zip'

This kernel works as long as the date on the device is put back to anytime before September 2014. (Tested with Pokemon Black and Pokemon Black 2)

I'm still having issues with this and can't seem to find any other conversation on the topic in the last few years. I just got an R4i-SDHC Gold Pro and am using the latest kernel off their site. I'm using a DS lite. I want to backup my saves off retail carts of Pokemon Heartgold and Black and run them on my flash card. I can load my save from Platinum without issues, but when I backup Black (with wood dumper/savegame_manager for example) the save does not work, even on an emulator. I am able to get a 512kb .sav file, but it's incorrect somehow. When loading the save, the rom for Black just goes into the option for a new game. I have also tried getting the save using R4i Save Dongle, but the same thing happens.

Is there any good way to dump the enhanced Pokemon games currently? (that will get me a working file, I mean) Using an old kernel or a mod is mentioned on this thread but I'm not sure exactly how. I don't have access to a homebrew 3ds. I've also tried converting the file to several different outputs and none worked.
Thanks

This is actually due to a hardware update made back in 2014. Retro's files are being updated to support all of the Pokemon games, but the update is current in private testing

Thanks for the info. Will this also fix the issue of dumping/loading saves off the retail carts for those games? And any idea when the update will be released?

It should, I test the ROMs that I dumped back when I first got the games and they worked with the update.
