Hacking Repairing a bricked Wii...

A colleague of mine has asked me to attempt to fix her Wii. The info I got from her was that she soft-modded it, then a friend of hers tried to update it, thus resulting in the current brick.

When I turn the Wii on, the disk slot flashes twice, it cannot sync to any Wii-mote, and it cannot connect to the TV.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Right now I am copying the contents of a working home brewed Wii's SD card onto another SD card and I'll see if it does anything when I put it in. From what I've seen on a few other posts, the Wii won't load properly because bootmii isn't in the root directory. Does that actually have anything to do with the problem?

The lack of bootmii files on your SD card likely isn't the problem. Those files are not required for a Wii to boot. However, if you put the bootmii files onto the root of your SD card and bootmii is installed as boot2, you might be able to boot into bootmii as the first step to repairing the Wii.

Two flashes means BootMii is installed as boot2. That's a good thing, it means the Wii is fixable. Worst case scenario you can generate a clean NAND using ohneschwanzenegger and flash it with BootMii, but it shouldn't have to come to that.

Correct! Putting bootmii in the root of the SD card worked!

Then I clicked the SD card icon and did the SD Card export option (unsure if that's what it actually is), which led me to this: https://gyazo.com/398f08302bea50fcad2f10b7e5c45d04

And after that finished it came to this: https://gyazo.com/9ccea30ad9f2d9ba62ec58aec42a2f74

I then did the Import(?) from SD card option and it said it deleted 128 blocks and rewrote 128 blocks successfully. I attempted to go to both the Wii Menu and Homebrew Menu and neither worked. What should I do next :x?

If you don't have a NAND backup from before the Wii stopped working, I would personally just flash a new one using Ohneschwanzenegger. Alternatively, you could try editing the NAND backup you just made to find the problem and fix it.

Okay so I followed this video:

And that whole process allowed me to be able to press the power button and start up the Wii Menu. However, now that it registers that it's connected to a TV, it simply stays a black screen upon startup.

Can't really find much about creating a whole new NAND, so what should I do now?

Bump! Still looking for help on this :/

Okay so I got it to get to the "Wii has corrupted system files" message. I cannot do the Maintenance mode trick since the Wii never shows the Health Warning screen. What can I do now?
