Say female link is playable, how would she be different?
I'd imagine the return of magic instead of limited special weapons, and some different set of weapons with mythical properties.

Could even be literally the same. You've gotta remember that canonically most of the power a main character wields in the story comes from the piece of the Triforce they have (minus Zelda I, where you technically don't have it yet and are just kind of thrown into the game and Wind Waker where you have to work for it)

In your dream. Never. Link will be always the character in Legend of the Zelda games. Do you want to play as a girl in Zelda ? Point the finger at Hyrule Warriors or ask them for Zelda's own game.

The aggression and assumed correctness with which these anti-female Link people are arguing is rather amusing. I kind of want Link to be changed to female just to witness the legendary amounts of salt.
