OCDM - Mario Maker 3DS course manager

OCDM stands for Online Course Database Manager

Features*:
  • import and export courses, both** 3DS and WiiU
  • cryptofix saves (if the game marked your save as "corrupted")
    • Note: this will overwrite the LockoutID in your courses, not in the save file, so please be fair and don't reupload others' courses :)
  • make/apply save snapshots (exports all files which are used in the save)
    • Note: please format your save data before restoring your save otherwise the game could mark your save as "corrupted", and this one is not cryptofixable
  • browse SMMDB
    • download courses
    • discontinued

*: these features are in the latest build at the time of editing this post, so functionality in the public build could differ
**: due to differences in the 3DS and the WiiU version, importing a converted course file on a foreign platform could crash the game on loading the course

Sorry for the empty and unformatted post, but I didn't know what else to put here.
I can offer you a webserver for this project if you would like so that you can set up a site and webhosting for everything you may need. :)

Great work my friend!

Thanks, sorry, but I'm already co-operating with @jaku, but once I finish the networking stuff, I'll upload sooscode along with the PHP files needed for server hosting :P

Good job!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Source code also is helpful if someone ever wanted to expand on the idea if the OP wasn't willing to

Imagine if the code for managing Pokemon saves was never open sourced or documented...
Let's not start the open source vs closed source argument. It never ends well.

I'm not saying people can't make their app closed source—that's their right unless they specifically use a GPL or similarly licensed piece of code or library that requires that the source be provided.

I'm just saying open source projects could possibly benefit the community more than a closed source one

That said, this does seem like a very nice app

This is amazing work. I have a website that does some work with Super Mario Maker called https://makersofmario.com we already have our own ratings, tagging and comment system working with the exisitng WiiU levels. When SMM3DS was announced without online play we planned to try and add support with our site as well. I know you mentioned online support almost completed but we would love to help in anyway we can and maybe combine forces if possible. Let me know and we can try and work together!
Is this site open-source? And is there any existing documentation of Mario Maker's servers (for Wii U) and how to scrape and parse levels?

I'm interested in making a level browser and researching ways to better integrate it into the game.

EDIT: I found https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net and seems simple enough (I'm new to mario maker lol). Though still looking for way to download levels.

EDIT2: Whats the primarily difference between yours and the official site? If yours just an extension built on it with own tagging/comment system ?

I think that with the official site you could bookmark a level so you could play it on the Wii u and with the unofficial site you could download the levels and import them.

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image

but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there
