people keep saying it takes less than 5 minutes... thats a huge lie.
it'll take 30-45 minutes if not longer.
luma isnt as simple as you guys say it is.
if you want A9lh you may have to downgrade two times... 10x ->9.2 ->4.x
whats that about?
its not as simple as replacing a few files on your sd card and tada rx tools is now luma
i see these types of threads everytime we get an update from nintendo.
theres tons of guides out there but most arent very helpful are will take you way more than 5 minutes to follow.

someone post a speedrun of rx->luma if im mistaken....

You are thinking of a9lh. A9lh is not luma. To install luma is this guide https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Installation-and-Upgrade which takes 5 minutes

To install a9lh is this one https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki Which takes abut an hour

thats wonderful and all...
but id say its more difficult to switch from rxtools -> luma than blankSD -> luma
and those guides are awful. after looking at them in the past i found them uninformative.
typically i search something on youtube that shows what to do.

from my experience its not easy to switch CFW and think 5min is a gross estimate

Ahahah nice ! Here ppl always tell to the other go to a9hl + luma they never tell ppl that they can keep menuhax, ctr ... ...

I already see someone telling to a newbie to go to a9hl if he want help ( he was using emunand but not RxTools )

Some ppl here are telling to the other that they are sh** because they dont use a9hl !

  • Always copy arm9loaderhax.bin to the root of the SD. You don't need to do anything else if you're using ARM9LoaderHax.
  • If you're using menuhax/browserhax/any other *hax that displays the Homebrew Launcher, also copy the contents of the hax folder to the root of the SD.
  • If you are using menuhax and want to boot Luma3DS directly without a boot manager/the Homebrew Launcher, also copy the boot.3dsx from the menuhax folder to the root of the SD, overwriting the existing one.
  • If you're using browserhax without the Homebrew Launcher, or the mset (System Settings) hack, also copy the Luma3DS.dat from the mset-spider folder to the root of the SD.
  • If you're using the mset (System Settings) hack, also copy the Luma3DS.nds from the mset folder to the SD of your DS flashcart, and run it to install the ROP.
It doesn't get much simpler then that. Youtube guides are outdated and can brick your 3ds. Trust me. You don't know how many threads i have seen with people bricking their 3ds because they watched a video.

The A9LH guide give you a lot of info while youtube video give you info but the youtubers have no clue what they are talking about. For example wii hacking guides on youtube for nintendont were people say it is a gamecube emulator for the wii/vwii which is wrong.

Your information is grossly out of date and completely incorrect now. Installing A9LH has been boiled down to about a 20 to 30 minute process.
https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki
But keeping MenuHAX and Luma3DS takes less than 5 minutes to setup and you loose nothing in the process.
https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Installation-and-upgrade
http://gbatemp.net/threads/faq-what-cfw-is-best-for-me.428509/#switch
Also yes it is as simple as replacing a few files to go from RXTools to Luma. If you are having trouble understanding the process, don't assume it's hard, simply ask.

Honestly people should stop using Menuhax. There's no reason to keep using it when A9LH has been made so much easier and safer to install.

That's completely incorrect and your biggest issue is using Youtube as a guide.
I have used every single CFW out there and each one has taken less than 5 minutes to setup. If you are having this much trouble either ask what you are doing wrong or simply do some research, because switching is as easy as replacing a few files. I would know, I wrote the guide on CFWs.

Sadly, there are people who still somehow struggle, even when they get help through the entire process. When it gets to the point where you have to ask about every step, they probably should just setup menuhax and do a9lh when they are more familiar with the console.

Actually if it gets to that point you might as well forget console hacking. You will brick your console with no doubt.
Seriously, this ^
Like the guide holds your hand the entire time. They've literally made it so easy, that the only way for someone not to understand it, is for them to be willingly not understand it. Even my boyfriend, who's never hacked a system before and proud when he figured out how to use a save editor, understood the guide.

you can't just say to people to stop using rxtools. some people are stubborn, they just too lazy, scared to update to a9lh (otpless is a option but still risky) due to possible bricks, some are ''different'', and for further
experiments. Also, it took lots of time for the rxtool team (the latest version) to release something like this. back then, that was the shit. people still love it due to the time taken from the team. like me for example, i still got a 3ds TN old ver 9.2 HBL,rxtools menuhax (i got other 3ds check in ''my system'' spoilers). i mean sure a9lh is the ''master race'' and got better perks than rxtools, but to put a project of lots of people to instinct is tedious.

Sure updates are coming and its risky for rxtools users to stay with this. After all of these thread saying to change out of rxtools, some of them already know now. They just want to keep it.

A friend of mine was also stubborn, he still had his N3DS on FW 9.2 & with RXTools. But after telling him all those sweet things Luma & A9LH brings, he got a change of heart and installed A9LH.
He isn't the fastes if it's about installing stuff, he took his time and installed A9LH with the OPTless method. It took mit around 1 hour. Could be alot faster, but he also wanted to use his old EmuNAND. (changed EmuNAND to SysNAND)

But yeah, I still know a dozen people who still use RXtools & ReiNAND.

Most aren't saying "switch to A9LH", they're saying " switch to Luma". Switching to Menuhax Luma even if for whatever reason you're scared of A9LH, takes less than 5 minutes. And are you implying Luma, Corbenik, etc. Didn't take time and effort to develop? They definitely did.

yeah but, that wasn't the shit back then. its like saying to a smash melee player to stop playing that ''old shit''.

You're reminding me of the types of people who are nostalgic for ZSNES (not the SNES console itself, specifically the ZSNES emulator) and still use it despite its security flaws and the recent release of Snes9x 1.54.1 in both 32 and 64-bit versions.
its like saying to a smash melee player to stop playing that ''old shit''.
We're not talking about the differences between older and newer entries of the Super Smash Brothers series, we're talking about how the usage of the latest versions of Decrypt9 and Luma3DS is equable to everything that the last build of rxTools can do but better.
