Not true... You can use 2 Thumbdrives at once. I have 2x 128GB in usage, works like a charm.
You just have to remove the 2nd one if you want to format a USB Device

Cheers, CL

Read again please. I say what you say...

Only to transfer data from one USB to another. The WiiU can only read from one connected USB on the home menu at a time. I suppose though you could shut down the WiiU, Connect another USB & remove the one you have connected to load game's from another USB... Not 100% sure.

I say 1 device at a time. If you connect 2, You'll be taken to data management to transfer data. Then I say I suppose you could use 2 USB's, But only 1 at a time.

So, I can put a new drive in and install to it and leave the one I already have in?

Strange... For me it works with 2 Thumbdrives at once, in Wii U Menu, Datamanagement and to play.

Only if you have to format or while installing a new title via wupinstaller it's only working with 1 connected USB Storage. But once you've packed both with games you can leave them connected...

Tested with the following USB Thumbdrive (2x):

Cheers, CL

Looks like we are both right in a way.

I have one 128GB ThumbDrive with my Wii Backups hidden with Ustealth.
The 2nd ThumbDrive only contains WiiU Backups.

I think it works in my case due to the Ustealth'ed partition

Cheers, CL
Should have mention that in the first place. I also use a USB for vwii which is hidden with ustealth. But we're talking about 2 usb's with WIIU GAMES. Big give away is the thread your posting in... lol

Do you think that may be the micro sd? since the first games that were installed with another memory. This is the memory I'm using:

The SD logo on both the card and adapter is wrong. You should use h2testw to see if it's a fake card.

looks like he just grabbed a random picture that he found on google that looked the same......although by what he is describing i too would still suggest he checks with h2testw if its fake, although i would have thought they would have moved on from making fake 16GB sd cards by now

Just created a starter pack for USB loading. It includes every file needed to get started (except the tik database zip, you can get that from that ISO site and then place its contents in the tickets folder)
It includes wupinstaller mod y, hbl, nusgrabber.exe and a custom .bat file (SetDownloads.bat) that allows batch downloads with nusgrabber. It also formats downloads in a way where once they complete you can simply copy the install folder from the nusgrabber folder to the sd root and then batch install with wupinstaller mod y.
The only thing I can claim from this pack is SetDownloads.bat, everything else I give credit to their respective creators.

Thank you. I will test this out

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

just transfered 300GB today and have the almost complete Wii U collection. so there is really no need for a 1TB drive.
transfers max out at around 14MB/s unfortunately. bottleneck is the usb 2.0 controller on the wii U. so be prepared for a long "backup" :(

Do you have to create folders in the menu for all the games? Or do you use the default place holders?

I have just been using the .bat method. Wondering if anyone is up for coding a GUI for NUS grabber that can generate a .bat

For instance, just select the titles and updates you want in a gui list and it will generate a bat file you can double click to grab it all in one go.

Oh I think cyan added that when I was banned. Do you have a working link?
The link to my post is good enough, but I can provide a direct link if you want.
Your gui is missing several games and is considered outdated by @Cyan
You should update it
My GUI pulls from an external resource, http://wiiubrew.org/w/index.php?title=Title_database. This is community maintained, and I DO NOT update it. Unless there is a better, more up-to-date resource to pull from, this is the best I can give.

I can do that. I can even add that functionality to my current program. It wouldn't be hard at all. If you want, you can go to GitHub and add it as an "enhancement" under "Issues".

You can use two at once on the Wii U?...
As you can see in the picture below, I am using two Wii u formated USB drives in my Wii U

How ever, my Game Pad displays this message, and if I click "Cancel" it will refresh the Home Menu like if I closed a software and this message pops up everytime unless I take a Flash drive out.

EDIT: I moved a title to my second flash drive that had nothing on it, but now get this message.

Nintendo, why would you give us multiple slots for external storage when we can use only one external storage at a time???
