In meantime I return to the original question: can I install only the game .cia with .3DS BBM?

No it doesn't require HBL, there is a .3DS build. I recommend you go with it. But yeah, you can use BBM. I don't recommend it regardless of that.

I wasn't sure FBI still had a 3DS build. Sure, that will work too. Personality, I use both FBI and NASA, NASA's UI is faster and more responsive.

hi im new to 3ds modding and stuff and wondering if anyone could help me with few things, ive just had my n3ds hardmoded back to 9.2.0-20e, the person that did the hardmod has installed al9h and put me luma cfw and fbi, ive then installed freeshop onto 3ds myself no problem but when i try download a game it says i need to update my fw.

first question is how do i update my 3ds so i can download games from freeshop and play them online without removing my cfw.
secound question is when i sent the 3ds to be hardmoded i forgot to put my 32gb sd card in and i was wondering if there is anything i need to do to the new sd card or can i just copy files over

Ok, tested with NewSuperMario2+DLC .cia with BBM .3DS on emuNAND and I installed the game with no problem.
I have to see if the DLC are installed too but I can't access rush mode right now, I'll edit the post when I finish the first world.

I have a question, it is hard to port a .exe game to make it playable in the 3ds? I want to play AM2R (Metroid 2 Remake) on my N3DS. I've seen some PC games ported to the 3ds but I wanted to know if it was possible with the Metroid 2

EXE has nothing to do with what the game is made in. That's just a generic executable file for Windows/DOS. Porting games is not a straightforward process most times.

I've heard about downgrading a 3DS thats past FW 10.7 as long as you already have a hacked 3DS. what is this sorcery? I havn't seen anything regarding this in a tutorial. I was going to buy a new 3dsXL and get A9LH on it, since I already have one on 9.2 with Reinand CFW (yeah its old).

If anyone asks why I would get another 3DS instead of using the 1 I have....

I've tried updating to Luma but i have SOOOOO much junk in my SD card I can't figure out what to delete to get it to work. The CtrBootmanager always comes back even after I delete all the files. Soooo anyway I gave up on that thing.

I'm planning on doing a hard mod on my o3DS XL and whilst most of the information is easily findable..

There's nothing to indicate what people are using to cut holes in their 3DS for the wire butt or if there are recommended locations for said butt. If anyone has some information I'd be eternally grateful. I don't want to make a crummy clawed-out hole in the case if I can avoid it by using proper tools. Hehe.

Just go to System Settings and update.

For the card change, just copy over ALL contents of your old microSD to the new one and isert it on the n3ds.

Hello all, I have been reading this thread for a while I just never actually wrote in it myself, but I do have a bit of a situation. So I have been following this guide to install a9lh+luma3ds https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Installing-arm9loaderhax . All went well until around IV Injecting FBI. I can not find the .TMD or .APP files mentioned in the troubleshooting.. I have 3 files 00000000.tmd 00000002.app and 00000003.app which are all lowercase (guide says look for uppercase). I have tried using these files to dump instead but only one of the is even discoverable in the hourglass9 dump process. Is there anything I can do? I lost my menuhax so I cant use decrypt9. I genuinely am just lost. Thanks a lot in advance whether you can help or not!

I actually just used this and got the big red error message... and yeah the hs.app is in my files9 folder :/

Darn.... you might have been the first to actually use my tool and it didn't work :-( the jar file is definitely on the root of the SD when you run it? I'll fix it tonight and get it to look for the files9 folder in more places.
You could also try using Universal Inject Generator manually. The tool is only to move the files around correctly so the user can't make a mistake.
Download the zip from https://github.com/d0k3/Universal-Inject-Generator/releases/latest and unzip it somewhere on your computer.
Put the hs.app in the input folder.
Download FBI.cia from https://github.com/Steveice10/FBI/releases/latest and put it in input as well.
Run go.bat (if nothing happens you may need to right click and choose run as administrator)
You should see a new file fbi_with_banner.app. Copy this to your files9 folder.
Put your SD card back in your console and boot into Decrypt9 or Hourglass9 and try to inject it. That should work.

I need a bit of help, I'm helping a friend downgrading her 10.7 New 3DS with Freakyform Deluxe and the downgrade attempt ended in a Frankenfirmware which shows 9.2.0-20u. She can still boot Freakyform Deluxe but what payload do we need now? Browserhax won't work saying "An Update is required" even after setting the date to 01/01/2000 00:00 and wiping the savedata. Any help is much appreciated

Oh and we followed Plailects latest guide with his SysDowngrader.

I remembered I brought my laptop in today so I just made some changes - if you want to try it again instead of the manual way. Functionally it is no different but it will give better error messages (when it can't find the files9 folder, when the files9 folder is there but hs.app is not in it, and when Universal Inject Generator can't be launched).

Quantumcat I am NOT saying your program is at fault. I had a injection problem even before I tried your program. I just don't understand where i or the process went wrong. Im a noob with 3ds modding, so more than likely its an oversight on my part. Im just looking for ways to fix or rectify the issues im having.
