Old 3ds XL 9.2 BackUp (made with Decrypt9) available

I had setup Gateway to run via browserhax everything was good, so they both were able to play *.3ds games i gave them

So my nephew wanted to be a badass and tried installing the Fastboot Gateway a9lh wihtout makeing a backup and now i'm
locked out using any system relevated homebrew like decrypt9, Emunand, sysupdater, etc.

i tried restoring the 9.2 backup i made before with Decryp9 but gateway is telling me that the NAND.BIN is corrupted,
so i think that the backup/restore feature gateway uses is different that the method of storing the backups than D9 uses

every single method i tried of accecing D9 failed (browser, homebrewlauchner)

i got the OTP.BIN from gateway so i would "only" need to install a regular a9lh

would love to hear any sugestions on how to get rid of this s**t :(

The install process requires a NAND backup to be present, and cannot proceed without one. Was it deleted?

Try restoring the backup made using Decrypt9 using Decrypt9. You can boot it using the homebrew launcher on 9.2. If you're not on 9.2, you should be able to downgrade.

as i said, i can't access decrypt9 neither via HBLauncher nor via Browser exploid.

the backup he used to install the Fastboot was the one i made with D9, he taught it would save time NOT DOING a backup with gateway.

What version is the firmware?

Unless it was since altered, I'm inclined to believe the backup is not corrupt, since it was already restored; however, to be safe, I wouldn't recommend forcing it to be restored (if GW even lets you do that).

The EmuNAND and the sysnand are both on 9.2.

I tried running d9 on all nands - Emu with and without gateway plugin, Sys with or without gateway plugin.

i think the problem is, that gatway itself patches arm9 to run unsigned code, so the exploid d9 uses to start gets in trouble.

well, did you try it with the .cia version ? if not, run the .cia version of plaisysupdater and downgrade to 9.2 with it, it should be fine after that (but since the 3ds nand store was messed with, DON'T UPDATE TO 9.5+ without fixing said keystore first (or actually install the comunity based a9lh, it now only takes about 2 minutes to install if you are doing it within a 9.2 system))

you could also try to do the gateway a9lh installation till The point where you are on 2.x and install the normal a9lh instead, or you could use the downgrade to 9.2, and since gateway won't block firm writes and does firmlaunch( and uses a firm from before 11.0), it should be possible without any problem( but hold up while selecting booting to sysnand, otherwise it could result in a brick) and remove a9lh.

Do you have an associated .sha file for the NAND.BIN you're trying to restore? Is it the correct .sha for the version of NAND.BIN that you have? Not sure if the Gateway NAND backup / restore uses .sha files, but I'm guessing it does if it it's reporting a corrupt NAND. If you're not sure that your .sha matches your NAND.BIN, then you could try deleting the .sha file and then restoring. The risk with this is that Gateway might try to do a restore of a corrupt NAND.BIN, which could brick your 3DS.

Guys, I finally figured it out :D

1. Download the Gateway 4.2 Beta Zip and the Time Machine Pack for your 3ds (old or new, Region Specific) from
http://www.gateway-3ds.com/private-beta-program/

2. Copy the TimeMachine Pack and the contents of the “Console SD” folder on to root of your consoles SD card and contents of the “Red Card uSD” folder on to root of your GW Red Card uSD

3. Load Gateway Menu Holding "L + Select" during Boot

4. go to Gateway Mode the hold "B" while pressing A to boot into SysNAND Gateway mode

5. Push Select to bring up the GW OSD and load Timemachine

6. go to update to v10 and let it finish

7. When it finishs the GW A9LH will be gone and your on System 10.3.0-28

8. From there you can use Plailects guide to start over with a regular A9LH installation

Thank you all for your sugestions and i Hope that this will help other people get rid of this s**t :P
