I guess it depends the one you're talking about.

Anyway, a 9.0 to 9.2 should work on any of them.

You need to use the last version or to do an integral downgrade.

i think the old version works but i cam't get it to work with luma patches https://gbatemp.net/threads/bootntr-11-1-nfirm-support.441566/ since it says that fork does not support mode 3

Anyway I don't think that the game plugin would have been launched.

Another guess: instead of returning to the normal mode when exiting ntr mode 3, what if we try to launch the game directly from bootntr ?

That way ntr would be launched and maybe the game too without any reboot between.

It's just an idea, my laptop died yesterday and I've only my phone left so I can't test but maybe someone can.

I think the auto exit may because of crash

It's at least part of the way to loading game mods from SD (something like LayeredFS), code.bin redirection to SD is already implemented, not sure what else is there, I don't really pay that much attention to Luma updates.
There's also language emulation and the CPU clock setting.
