My biggest hate - the name.

Me: "I was up last night playing Mario Galaxy 3 on the Switch."
Co-Worker: *knows nothing about games* "On WHAT?"
Me: "Oh its this new thing from Nintendo..." *15 minute explain*

I figure this will happen a lot. This system is a tablet with HDMI out. I dig it, I really hope it works out really well. I had/have the same optimism for the Wii U too though.

I've watched quite a few opinions on YouTube now, and while most are positive - the negatives do shine bright. Most people do enjoy playing games and playing games on the go but that is because its convenient. You think I'm going to carry around that tablet? Survey says......NO. And you probably won't either. Even when you do bring it in public, are you going to play 2-4 play multiplayer with "friends". Maybe smaller chance for success there, but still very unlikely.

I'm assuming another flop here. There is going to have to be some magical software for this to make it over the top.

My biggest like - its fresh. This is a true new concept/console/handheld. For that Nintendo gets my applause. This does not look like a game system, this looks like the future of gaming - but perhaps a little too early for the moment.

What will be interesting to see is if it is basically a portable WiiU or will they bump up the power at all. If it is just the same as a WiiU in terms of power then good news for WiiU owners in terms of breath of fire. Does this also mean that Nintendo's console and handheld division are now one? If so is it safe to assume that the next pokemon game will be 3D maybe?

It looks interesting and fixes the one problem the Wii U had with the gamepad - it actually makes it portable. It's not the console I wanted, but it just might be the console I deserve. I suspects AAA development will avoid it like the plague, but it will definitely bolster the quality of mobile games tenfold, which I see as a good thing. Not bad, not bad at all.

My prrediction is that it will be able to play Iphone games and that all future Nintendo titles including Zelda will also release for IOS. The removable controller parts could than be used as a Bluetooth input device.

EA, Skyrim or Dena would never support the system if porting from existing mobile platforms was not effortlessly easy. The trailer basically confirmed that Skyrim will release for Android and IOS. And Nintendo shares will skyrocket because of the Apple and Google App store sales.

Exactly,

One more thing, I don't the the major demographic is 'pro' gamers here anyway , there are also people who simply want to play games and enjoy them Aka the mobile demographic and we know how many people use these, if Nintendo gets it right by publishing a promising line up of games every year, great battery life and reliable online services and thus could yet be more popular than PS or xB.

it's looks awesome and really funky, but ask yourself this question:- will the Nintendo switch have a third party games like Call of Duty or Fifa soccer or NBA or other franchises?

I'd just reply "it's the new Nintendo console". That's as simple as it is.

It was exactly what i was looking for to play: A powerfull device with nice controls that i can take it everywhere.
Thinking about power: If it uses a NVidia GPU it couldn't use Vulkan API? That could result in a great performance, even par with current gen consoles.

As I mentioned elsewhere. I'm interested but want to know three things first.

1 ) Backwards compatible (DS/3DS, and digital possibly with WiiU)

2 ) Region Free (no reason for a region lock in this day and age)

3 ) MSRP (hopefully $350 or less, $400 is a bit expensive)

I hear elsewhere about battery life, and other things, but they aren't as important to me.

so people want a console that is almost on par with PS4 Pro and portable for 400 dollars? Keep dreaming. Honestly I'm worried it would be priced to low, because in that case it's just a little more powerful than the Wii U, meaning we won't be getting that much third party support. I'm expecting a price point of 450-500 and I really hope it's actually powerful enough to attract third party support.

Also, I'll buy it on launch, but it all depends on the launch titles. The concept itself interests me. I never bought a console or a handheld on launch day.

Is it a replace for both 3ds & wii u or just wii u?

Nintendo never made such claim, but many people are assuming it will due to its portability.

If I am to complain about one thing, it's the name. Don't get me wrong, it's not Wii to WiiU confusingly bad. It's not coolass NX. But it's still NX to NS (if you want it), close enough.

If others are to speculatively complain that it has last gen specs, then how about last gen specs on a handheld?

I love the NINTENDO Switch. It looks so cool. I would probably use it in hand held mode most of the time tho.

I'm hyped for it, I love the idea and the rumored game lineup seems great! I'll buy it as soon as I can once it comes out.

I agree give us the price NINTENDO. :)

If the Wii U is anything to go by then yes, we should expect CoD, Fifa in the first year. They might be a basic port but the big question will be if EA/Activision will support the console throughout the lifetime or they'll just abandon it quickly.

I usually use off tv play on the Wii U already so this applies to me too.

I love off screen TV mode you don't have to hear people cry about volume. This console will be the console I use most of the time. If you can't use WiFi at home go to mc donalds.

NINTENDO Switch Flash cart please. :)

My biggest fear: The Battery, this is going to be a really demanding device, so it its an issue with today gaming.
Secondly, the trailer did not feature any sort of "Media" option, as be able to play movies, nor streaming. ''So Far".
Since they got rid of the SD input, my bet goes on the flash carts, which i hope they cost less then 50 bucks.

just a side note: doesn't the controller looks like.. if you hold just one, the depad seems almost in the middle instead of the right? like you would have to grab the controller almost in the middle to use the dpad.
